No. Taxpayers paid for my college and most of my flight training. So thanks for the financial assistance. Dont worry though...the 7 years of free education and flight training hardly came on a silver platter. More like in an MRE bag.

Airline Piloting is a very small world, as we all know, and you're no-where near as anonymous as you think. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. Just act civil like the way mommy taught you when you were little. Remember that?

Comments like this are self defeating. People think they get away with being A holes, their 'true' selves on this board, because they are hidden/anonymous, but nothing could be further from the truth. Eventually they will start chatting away in the BRAND X hiring thread hoping to make a friend or two, or get a bit of information. Guys will scour their posting history, see crap like this, and immediately peg this guy for the kind of person they don't want, and determine never to hire him.

Whats the Captain junior hire date for the E175 in IAH?
Will IAH be one of the 12-18 month upgrade times or does it go more senior due to it being a E175 base?

I’m looking for guidance. I have offers from both Mesa and SkyWest for upcoming CRJ classes. QOL is most important to me. Currently live in Phoenix. Pay is low on my items to make a decision. Concerned with having to sign a training contact with Mesa. What would be the areas I should most consider before making a decision? I know nothing is a sure thing but would like informed input from those that have been there and done that.
Skywest will be in that same position, though they probably won't go in to BK, they'll just shove 50 seaters towards the ASA/XJT side of the house and watch them wither away. However, Skywest will experience displacements, and stagnation as about half of their fleet are 50 seaters.
Both UA and DL are hiring 200+ per month combined. The Military pool has been mostly exhausted so we are seeing most new-hires coming from the regional ranks, and the average TT for UA new hire classes has fallen. The applicant pool is still currently strong at about 12,000 qualified. Of those 12,000, I'd say about 8,000 have clean backgrounds. Doing the math, we are less 5 years from draining that pool, and with the new FARs the hiring at regionals to back-fill the mainline demand will be almost non-existent in the next year.
Mesa is in a good position right now because it has taken the steps to right size itself for what the market will bear in the future. The pilot CBA certainly is at the bottom of the regional industry, but the gap between the top and bottom is pretty narrow.
Good luck.

I think it was a Mar '14 hire for the CA on the Ejet. I think it is going more senior because the flying is possibly better than the CRJ side. Either way, they are quickly running out of qualified pilots to upgrade on either fleet as they take deliveries and attrit.

So I talked to crew line adjustments and I think I'm more confused now then before I called lol. I was told every day I have been scheduled for reserve is a 90 minuet call out unless crew tracking calls me the day before and tells me otherwise. On the schedule is that what that "RS3" thing stands for? I just find it weird that I have no scheduled ready reserves. Perhaps because I live in base and already got consolidated this month with that line they gave me?
Thanks guys,

RS3 means you were awarded the afternoon regular reserve shift. RS1 means you have been awarded the morning shift. As a reserve pilot that is all you will see until they assign ready reserve or flying.
