I'm sure you have a better source I'm just relaying information. Things can change at the drop of a dime. I asked questions and I got answers. Whether you believe it or not, want it to happen or not is your choice. Things can change may or may not happen. It's just info that's all.

Just heard from a buddy of mine that we lost the DoubleTree hotel in HOU and are now at a LaQuinta.

Maintenance is a poor source of rumors regarding crew/aircraft basing. So are flight attendants. For example, we routinely do EJet service checks on RON aircraft in OKC. Does that mean OKC is going to become an EJet pilot base? No way no how! Are pilots going to be based in Tucson? Nope. What is significant and important to maintenance often has nothing to do with pilot/crew basing.
FAs also keep spreading insane rumors, but we have to keep in mind they can be dual-qualled and contractually cross-utilized on CRJs & EJets (so can mechanics afaik). What they hear from their managers has zero to do with flight ops--zilch.
So basically, anything an FA or mechanic or MOC source has told you about where EJet pilots could be based is very likely confused extrapolation.

This happens at every airline.
Our ratchety FAs have contract language that says they get a microwave and fridge in their rooms, or something like that. Sooooooo...guess what? Most NICE hotels (like 4+ star properties--Marriott/Hilton-grade) don't have microwaves/fridges in all of their rooms (like budget/Microtel-style hotels).
End result--we end up in Microtels/LaQuintas/budget hotels. Partly because flight attendants go crazy if they don't have a microwave in their room to heat up their canned beans/disgusting mac & cheese from QuikTrip.
I recently witnessed two of my FAs going crazy on the DoubleTree TUL in a hissy fit b/c they didn't have any rooms with microwaves in them (the front desk pointed out there are microwaves in the business center/lounge which anyone is free to use anytime).
We also recently lost the Wyndham PIT--and are now in a DAYS INN--all because some IAD FAs being ratchet ghetto thugs with the Wyndham van driver for not taking them somewhere to eat late at night. Ughhhhhhhhh.
The PIT Wyndham wasn't the best hotel in the system, but it was at least tolerable/reasonable. But now we're in a 1-star ghetto Days Inn--awesome, FAs! Thanks! THANKS.

I don't care where they put them. Just passing along info from a previously-reliable source who would know well before any mechanics/maintenance personnel.
