Do you have reasons? Or is your second APC post just a Mesa troll?
If you have a line at Mesa, you show up and work, then go home, talking to nobody at the company but your crew along the way. And operationally, Mesa seems to bump along in much the same way as every other regional. So, is it pay related then? Yeah, that sucks, but you can quit. Or are you one of those reserves who gets furious when they get called at weird times to do their job? That sucks too, however, it's also an attitude thing, and not necessarily Mesa related. It would be much the same at any other regional. The reality is that being on reserve at regional is a hard, kind of crappy job, especially if you commute. You should probably quit immediately if you feel that way. Life's too short. XOJet and EJM are hiring. Do that. You'll make $50k, stay in nice hotels and fly cool jets. I fly with way too many very reasonable, experienced people who tell me that Mesa isn't so bad (aside from pay) to believe posts like this.
Things that really blow here:
- hotels
- pay
Most of the rest is just the atrocity that is the regional airline industry.

I would rather wear Oprah's pantyhose as a ski mask than work another day at Mesa.
Worst mistake I have ever made. And I have made some epic mistakes in my life including:
accidentally throwing a little person in the air (long story)
and making out with my cousin (longer story)

Actually, it'll be kind of hard to narrow it down with just those clues. My Mesa nightmare will be over soon, but not soon enough. I'm *this* close to just cutting my losses and starting over at another regional....no I won't tell you which two I'm thinking about going to. But one is wholly owned and receiving new aircraft and the other is non wholly owned but seems stable enough.
If some of you think Mesa is just another regional with just your average share of problems...well....I can't help you. I wish it was as simple as showing up, doing my job, going home. Unfortunately the misery this place creates follows you 24/7..from abusive crew tracking, to the low (non existent) pay, run down third world motels we stay at, I could go on.

I don't know, did we? Were you that guy who was spending his entire paycheck on health care costs? Or the one who was 2 months behind on rent?

Haha. Third world motels. Clearly you've never been to the third world. #firstworldproblems

If you think Mesa is just another airline with just a bunch of pilots who are "late on rent" or "spending entire checks on healthcare"...well...I can't help you. That wholly owned receiving airplanes and non wholly owned that seems stable you're considering? Guess what? Same issues there with guys/girls too. Jump on any legacies J/S and I'll promise you that you'll find the same complaints amongst their crew as well with regard to their companies.
You clearly didn't do your homework prior to joining up at Mesa and that's 100% on you. Does the pay suck? Yup, it's bottom of the barrel. Is the current contract light years behind in language? Couldn't agree more. But, if you need a specific domicile or want to "get in and get out" it's absolutley a place to go. There are tons of guys/girls who used it just for that and the senority list dictates that attrition. They did it right!
If you think going across the street to avoid awful crew trackers/scheduling and crew memebers that don't complain? You're sorely mistaken and you're in for a long ride in this career.

Wait, it's not you sorry about that. The guy I was thinking about complained a lot less.

You are too drunk on kool-aid to realize any of this. And yes, I probably should have researched Mesa a little further before jumping on the bandwagon. Hence why I hope others won't make the same mistake and be led astray by you and brand spanking new hires like strata-whatever who don't know the first thing about what we are talking about.

You're right I haven't....unless you count the 2 tours I did in Afghanistan, the six months I spend in Saudi Arabia, and the 8 months in East Timor. And although I wouldn't consider it "third world" I also spent some time traveling for leisure through most of South America and Europe.
So if you don't count any of that..you're right! I don't know what I'm talking about and Mesa is the cat's meow!!

Welcome to the airlines. Ive worked at another regional before Mesa and, everybody complained about the same things you're complaining about. All crew trackers are *******s, and none of the hotels will ever be good enough.
Get over it. It'll be marginally better elsewhere.
Trust me.

Actually bud, you should do some homework on other airlines. I have many friends/contacts at other airlines from regionals up to legacies and NONE of them have to go through what we do at Mesa. Republic gives us a run for the money....I will admit. But there is a line, however low which Mesa has managed to dive beneath.

Unfortunately it seems you're clearly "drunk on kool-aid" to realize anything I said. I implore you to go back and read my first reply to you where I agreed with bottom of the barrel issues at Mesa. Yet somehow you whiffed and were led astray and mistook me for a company guy.
If you'd like I'll give you my contact info so I can help you write your resignation to the company. I'd like to make sure it's articulate and understandable when the powers at be recieve it. I'd also challenge you to use your time tonight to apply at that wholly owned and non wholly owned you spoke of earlier. It'll make the time for people at Mesa doing it right easier.
