He was trolling, just in case you're not. Making fun of all the second career guys near retirement who wanted to cross airline pilot off their bucket list and took an excessive amount of training to do it. The iPad and bonus he mentioned are also a huge point of contention with the pilot's union.

An industry leading contract will never be had here and currently isn't even being sought after by our union. They have repeatedly stated that they are striving for industry average as the end goal.

Good luck on your search but unless you have more than 2 DUIs and/or killed a guy with a trident, then your search is best suited elsewhere.
To add to what he said .. the 1000 hours until upgrade is a big fat lie too. You should hit 1000 in a little over a year. Given the current attrition and hiring numbers there's no way of upgrading anywhere near that soon. Even two years is almost certainly a stretch. And, in addition to a trident, I also think killing a guy with a shovel could be a problem as well, especially if you use your foot to drive it through his rib cage while he's laid out on his back. Whacking him repeatedly in the head with it is probably OK though.

The rumor is that they won't have to be in uniform, however they will be required to wear a button down shirt and tie. Don't hate on the instructors though because they had no part in this as it had nothing to do with people's appearance while showing up for AQP. Rather, it's someone's ill-conceived attempt to fix the slovenly appearance of some pilots out on the line. Allegedly, there has been a growing amount of calls from mainline as a result of customer complaints.

Just this year for winning Airline of the year from ATW. 2 roundtrip passes anywhere, not 2 for each eligible passrider. Our D3 (buddy passes) guests are technically eligible pass riders but 2 D3s cannot travel together on the free passes. They can however use the free pass with either the employee or registered guest.

He will drag this labor issue as long as he can
They don't have better deals than mesa, they have better deals than expressjet.

Very patient, and extra sim sessions! The bonus and free iPad have really helped out a lot too. The $30,000 bonus also sounds like it's going to work out great and it's not too far off other regionals. It's been a great place to work so far and I know it's only going to get better. When my class went to the corporate luncheon, we all had a chance to meet management. They seemed like they were great people who truly care about their employees and the future of the company. They also told us upgrade is right around 2 years (hopefully less) so we're getting in at a perfect time! I was hesitant becoming an airline pilot at an older age, but it's working out well. I finally acquired my 1500 hours After 13 years flying GA here and there while owning an insurance company and finally decided to make a leap of faith and make my dreams come true. Mesa was the perfect fit for me. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
Did you even try not to sound like a recruiter?

Funny recruiters have to pose as new people to say something positive. The fast upgrade is gone how can anyone live on FO Pay without living on your friends couch.

Sounds like one of those "I made $6000 last month sitting on my couch..." spam emails.

Mesa will never be a good airline to work for as long as Ornstein is in charge. Absolutely the worst employer I have ever worked for.

Good sir, I'm not a recruiter, although I wouldn't mind joining the Mesa recruiters and someday if the situation presents itself. Mesa has allowed me to follow my dreams. Pay shouldn't be a deciding factor on the status of a company. We get to do what we love and that should be enough. It's all about what you make of it and I'm loving life, and Mesa currently. Just think, when you were building time to get to the airlines I'm sure you would have paid money for flight time. Now WE get paid to fly. How can you complain?
