I would say on the CC76 that number would be on the high side but within 5-10k of average. The fact that they only get two weeks of vacation and can only use PTO for sick calls puts them on the line a lot more.

Their QOL, buyer beware.

Still seems high but I see what you’re saying.

Its all about what you want, where I live I was commuting to a crash pad so not doing that is worth $20K in worry free commuting, I think you will always do better $ at a major but you deal with other issues that you don't deal with here. NJA has done a 180 in attitude from what I can see since November. I am still convinced and agree with some union guys that pay is going to have to go up as they are not able to keep people and cannot fill new hire classes. New contract though has driven productivity way up, but with 100+ airplanes coming in next 18-30 months I think they got some issues.

I wasn’t making an airline comparison, I just think the soft money projections sound a bit high, even for the psychos that do CC76LT.

As far as pay going up and contract stuff, the pay and QOL, work rules, all that stuff etc. the company doesn’t have to do anything when the current pilot group votes yes to whatever is put on their plate. The company fixed productivity so they can add airplanes and not worry about attrition. If the company wanted to fix pay and attrition, they would have. They merely wanted to fix fatigue calls, and they did.

The important thing is that you are happy with it. If it works for you, and you’re happy, that’s all that matters.

If there is one thing the company is consistent on - They are not concerned about attrition. That stance has never changed.

I'm not sure what it would take to change that.

Nothing. They will just devise a way to make current pilots work harder for some more peanuts.

AQP with a 9 month training cycle is coming. That’s almost 2,500 additional duty weeks for the current pilot group. Some people wonder why they cut hiring back.

I would only say that as these newer airplanes are coming in with very advanced avionics,, if you listen to the union and management, they are getting tired of paying for guys to wash out of FS with problems that are related to technology. 65 year old retire wash out rate is like 30% or something, Hence the sim is coming back to the interview, as for attrition, ya, did not seem to be a concern except sales have been outpacing capacity in last year and that side of the house wants more options?

As for the new contract, ya if you want to pay me an extra $118 an hour to fly more than 1.8 hours a day, or sit in an FOB watching golf for more than 12 hours, on a 7 day tour, for my 4.9 months of work I do a year on the 7/7 schedule with vacation, I will happly do it until I am tired and then I call fatigued. $100K to work 5 months a year ant bad money especially when you include all the new benefits and perks. I agree the company learned how to milk the cow on this contract but I get more $$$ for my milk!

Those "some people" aren't very smart. Interesting that they are going AQP, that will free up even more flying. Stopping the fatigue calls really stopped the hiring IMHO, but will further lessen the need for pilots with AQP.
