Schedule stability? I said I’d give it more time before I reached any conclusions. Well, it’s been over four months now and the Children of the Corn are worse than they have ever been on the ridiculousness flowing from their computer screens.
I nearly got fired last week because of a conversation with a screen reader. Outright incompetence and stupidity is the norm.
Show up, do your trips, and go to the hotel? Sheer fantasy in my fleet.
My goal every tour is to NEVER CALL a 614 area code. I used to fly entire tours and at least most of the tour without having to call.
I’ve failed on that score EVERY TOUR since IBB. Every DAY of EVERY TOUR since IBB.

The honeymoon will be over at some point and something will need to be done to attract quality pilots in the numbers we need.

I think it’s safe to say we all know that 5 pilots per airplane will not work. I would argue that anything less than what we have today is foolish.Originally Posted by wankel7

30.1 hour tour this week, only one 10 hour rest night, the rest averaged between 12-14 hours of rest, and the mighty XL was fairly reliable to boot, nothing insane, 3-4 legs a day. Early starts but done by sunset.Cheers. YMMV.

So a class of 5 a month for 2 more months is considered hiring to you lol? I think the only thing that’s proven here is that you’ve been at a NetJets for over a decade and still have no clue what’s going on.
Right on the nail, plus the other comment that the pilot group played right into Management’s hands, now have clear and convincing evidence to use against them. It may not be a sinking ship, I think the business is stable, but from a CBA/pay perspective, the pilot group basically gave them 8-10 years for very little.Originally Posted by OhSnapAF
Proven wrong? Hardly. I said that this was just a honeymoon phase, and that money will be more important than proper rest, and that this would prevent expansion. The IBI was strategically designed to make you work more for money, and to do more with less. That’s literally playing out in front of your face. Same for me, although I still haven't broke the 30 hr mark. I'm consistently mid 20's on the Latitude. Everyone I've flown with is much more positive and happier since the new contract. Flight Managers have been great too, a lot less push back. Although crewfood is still an issue for me. I can't get caterers to include provolone with my turkey/provolone wrap (I know, first world problem). I'm starting to think I'll survive the next 10 years with the new NJA. You're all welcome to accuse me of being a kool-aid drinking company leg humper, but I'm willing to compare weekly union volunteer hours and picketing attendance.

NJA isn’t a sinking ship, they are just trying to run so tight with no padding that it makes them volatile. No other aviation company is trying to add airplanes while simultaneously shrinking the pilot group, it’s a terrible business model. But again, lots of the pilot group looks at today, and ignores next week so if you don’t compare the long term effects to the short term gain, life will be good, as you are just getting paid more to do the same amount of work essentially. Of course overall people are happier, the pilots (especially FOs) were tired of making crap money for what they were doing. This flight pay bump helps but it will be a temporary victory. The allure of 20k more isn’t going to last forever.Originally Posted by howardhughes8
