It isn't a prediction...

My buddies that are 2015 hires are hundreds of pilots away from upgrade. They might hit upgrade at 10 YOS, might... Hope they do, and upgrades will drop but upgrades are still significantly longer at NJA than most places.

Sky buddies at all of those not making 120k first year and 200k second year. My Delta buddy was making $180k his fifth year and commuting at his own expense. Delta pilots can make the money on green slips. My SWA buddy is 3 year and not making $160k.

I have long time friends at almost every airline. We all compare. When it come to the legacies, all of us have our pluses and minuses. FedEx/Ups have better retirements. Netjets is running pretty close to the legacies.

Atlas, Omni, Kalitta isn’t even in the same conversation as Netjets.

Lol dude you can spin it however you want, I know FOs with years more seniority to you and NONE of them cleared 200k at NJA in 2021.

Why would anyone looking to join NetJets right now care about upgrade times in 2015?

It's 2022 playa. They have been here 7 years and haven't upgraded, and won't upgrade this year. The upgrade times in 2015 and in 2022 haven't changed much. The 2015 hires will probably upgrade around 9-10 YOS.

Everyone at NJA has been seen saying upgrade times will drop significantly since furlough recall. Will they drop eventually? Probably... Have they dropped significantly? No. Will they drop significantly in 2022? No. Don't go to any job for the upgrade times, but for sure don't go to NJA for the swift upgrade times...

👍 The are still a bunch of '06 hires who are still FOs. I believe that telling people that it is anything other than a 15 or 16 year upgrade currently is disingenuous.

Playa? That's Spanish for beach right? Also back in 2015, Barrack Obama was still president, the dow Jones was half what it is today, uptown funk was number 1 in the charts and you were a bitter F.O. in the right seat of a Phoenom.

Things have changed since then, including upgrade times at NetJets!

I made 17k last month as a 1st year FO. My January guarantee is about the same.
Add a 10% match and a 2% DC for 401K.

Don't get me wrong, I know NetJets pays well and is a great company to work for, but saying you guys are somehow the best paid is just not accurate.

You clearly need an update from your buddies.

Never said we are the best paid. I know we are not. Compensation comes in many forms with soft money, work rules, trip/duty rig, etc.

My buddy at Kalitta says he airlines out on day 1 as part of his schedule. He’s out for 16 days. They airline him home on day 17 which uses his day off. Same for my buddy at Atlas.

My Omni buddy got his last choice. His line works 3 weeks straight of being gone. No thanks.

How many days straight were you gone to make that $17k? The most I was gone was 11 days in one tour and that was my own doing. We can make over $20K in those 11 days. Normally I’m only gone 7 days followed by 7 off.

While we don’t have DC, our FDP comes pretty close to it. 33% of our FDP is put in our 401k. FDP is our version of DC. $16k of my FDP was put in my 401K. FO’s FDP are paid the same as captains. Your annual 2% DC is only $4224 using your $17600 monthly income number. I and many first year first officers beat your DC by about 378%

We put $19500 in our 401k and then NetJets matches that at 58%. That 58% is $11310 of free money.

$19500+$11310+$16000= $46,810 for 1 year of retirement savings. Run the numbers of the legacy DC and 401K plans and you’ll see NetJets is pretty close.

Assuming your company matches all of your 19500 then that is only $1950. 19500+1950+4224 is $25674 total retirement savings for 1 year at your company.

I made $180k as an FO in the 2018 agreement. I personally know several FO’s that cleared $300k in 2021. Your source may be on medical leave and not working for them not to clear $200k in the 2020 agreement.

Yo Playa,

Until the 2015 new hires upgrade, we will have 15 year upgrades. Remember that NetJets did not hire from Dec 2008 to Jan 2015. The upgrade times will drop by 7 years instantly when the 2015 class upgrades. We are upgrading a lot. We are hiring a ton of pilots.

Unfortunately, there are only so many sim slots available in a 24 hour day…Playa.

Check your data again, almost all of the '06 hires have had the chance to upgrade. The ones that have not will be able to by this spring. Lets check back at this time next year and see what plays out.
