You can bid either seat in every airframe we operate but award is solely based upon seniority. Bids come out for a specific fleet. The dream sheet is amendable by you anytime. Keep that updated to avoid awards you may no longer want.

Remember one thing. Ask lots of questions, but be ready for some answers that may be close to correct but missing details, or totally off the wall. Read the CBA. If anything is unclear, ask a steward. Those folks are truly the experts on compliance and interpretation issues, and are there for you.

Getting a copy of the contract now will not help you. Passing the expo is your first step. I would focus on the expo first.
When you get to your indoc class, you’ll be issued a company iPad that has a copy of the latest union contract on it.
Your first airplane will be assigned to you. You’re seat locked in it for 39 months. All of these bids and aircraft bid questions can be answered then. You won’t be hired into a large cabin airplane, so that’s not an issue either.
There are plenty of us that could answer company, union or contract related questions.

Large cabin aircraft pay a premium. That includes the Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 650. I believe the Global 7500 will pay a bit more once on line. I too flew with an FO recently who said he’s making over 200k (not sure what schedule) on a regular basis and would take a pay cut as a Captain in the small cabin fleets. The large cabin go very senior though for both seats.

From: PIC
I'm an SIC on the Global and have bypassed upgrade for about 3 years due to road QOL, not pay. The pay is better than other fleets as an SIC, but other than 2021, I would make more as a PIC in any fleet and also work many less days. I worked 215 days in 2021 and made over 330K, not including per diem or company match. There is no way I would be able to do a ton of super long tours for the exceptional extended days and big FDP payouts if I was a PIC in any fleet I could hold- I would burn out way too fast. I would be on the 7&7 with an occasional extended day as a PIC and that is why I would only have made less in 2021- a year with a non permanent LOA that paid out big. I won't be working like 2021 this year even if they continue to extend the LOA. Realistically, once we are properly staffed I will be making a little over 200K on either the 7&7 or 60 day schedules with occasional extending, not the craziness I signed up for last year. The QOL is truly light years better on the Global and that is what makes it my preferred choice over PIC in the smaller cabin fleets. Anyone who really wants to make a lot of money and doesn't mind working really hard will make significantly more as a PIC.
But for the love of everything holy, STOP including per diem as part of your compensation. It is expense reimbursement, NOT income.
Carry on.
