Lol. That's exactly what I did, and couldn't be happier! I loved the Dash, just hated the company.

This is not a bad place for you then, just hard to raise a family on this income alone unless you get a high paying line. Even my training pay here was better than my pay on reserve at my last job though. You didn't come from PDT did you? Thought maybe the screen name looked familiar...

No I was at Mesa for 5 years and took a voluntary furlough. Glad to be out of that place but looking to get back to flying full time. My wife makes great money so we can survive. Just looking for a good solid company. Does anyone know what the lines are like in the MO bases and Fort Meyers?

The Midwest lines are mostly 4 on 3 off and outstation based. Most lines start either in the AM for the fist flight of the day or the early PM to finish up the day. IRK and OWB are the exceptions. They're 3.5 ON 3.5 OFF and you're flying the whole day on your 3 full days.

Here's the Midwest bases:

CGI
TBN
UIN
MWA
IRK
OWB
STL (backup line)

Feel free to PM me if you have some more questions.

Has anyone left another regional to fly at Cape Air? I'm considering it, seems like much better flying.

I did. If you live near one of our bases, I would def recommend it. Better QOL, and better pay, for the most part. First year at Cape Air paid significantly higher than third year at Piedmont. The job can be a lot more work though. Overall, I'm way happier here than I was at Piedmont.

I was furloughed from Comair back in '08, so when the opportunity came to fly at Cape I more or less had to take it. That being said, I too am having a way better time here at Cape, I couldn't check the 'resign' box fast enough when Comair sent me a recall letter.
