There not all getting 85 hours in 12-13 working days because every 4 day pays 26 hours.
A snapshot in time, is not a reflection of their strong contract if anything it's just a reflection of Delta's efficiency which AA or PSA will never have, and no amount of negotiating capital can fix that. If PSA voted a carbon copy you wouldn't see that because our schedulers are allergic to efficiency, and their contract doesn't require 26 hour 4 days.
I think we're both in agreement that DH, rigs or minday will help clean up trip credit, but it it may be deceiving to just cherry pick their pilot agreement.

I personally like ASA's duity rig which will help us get paid sitting at the gate during IROP's.

Like ASA it's cheaper to install rigs and minday when you switch to PBS, because scheduling doesn't have to split trips for conflict. AWAC and XJT have them with hardlines, but they only got because they got it right after Comair went on strike and never lost them in a BK.
They might not all be getting 18 days off with 85 hours, but from what it sounds like its not uncommon. Here at PSA NOBODY is getting 85 hours with 18 days off, unless Its during a vacation month. Even if you can find a critical trip you’re not going to get that. And critical is very hard to find nowadays. Also, that 85 hours is a conservative number.

Plus, if they’re getting 18 days off they cant be picking up that much open time unless its just 1 or 2 day trips. Otherwise, they must be getting over 20 days off in their normal schedules. 26 hour 4 days arent as rare at other airlines. In one of my previous posts I mentioned how someone had a screenshot of Mesa’s open time and just about every single 4 day was worth over 20 hours and 3 days were over 15 hours. If that’s their open time then you have to wonder how good the trips are that pilots are actually getting awarded on their normal schedules. In our open time we’re lucky to find a 4 day worth 18 hours. Most are in the 14-15 hour range. And even if the Endeavor guys are picking up lots of open time....they’re getting it a bare minimum of 150%. There’s always going to be open time, but our’s only pays 125%

A lot of you guys are getting worked up on things that don't matter. Talk of a few more credit hours here or there, trip and duty rigs, better reserve rules, better pay and anything else you want to have happen is irrelevant.

Currently, AAG and PSA have absolutely no incentive to even entertain the thought of contract improvements. Those improvements for us costs them money.

The company does not care at all what me or you or anyone else thinks. And no increase in the amount of union reps is going to solve that.

I agree. But my point is that even if we match pay rates, which I doubt is going to happen, we will still make significantly less than Republic and Endeavor because of our crappy work rules.

Speaking of money, check your paystubs folks, JRM and Cancellation pay from the meltdown are MIA... wonder if that's a money saving tactic? "Accidentally forget" to pay your employees in full.

Well, did you file a pay discrepancy? How about a pay claim? Was it between the first and the 9th but not on full moon nights but before 1700 or pursuant to section Section 3, Subsection J, paragraph 3 as promulgated in the contract? Did you, sir, hold a lucky rabbit's foot while shaking the magic 8 ball in the course of submitting such pay claims? If not, then I'm sorry, you will not be paid those hours.

Thanks for playing.

and people reading these forums probably think I'm being a grumpy old curmudgeon and feel like I'm exaggerating when I way "our contract is written on swiss cheese"

while the above paragraph is humor it is not far from the truth. apply that same truth to a LOT of areas of the contract.

some fan boi or management troll will be along shortly to dismiss us as "disgruntled has beens" or something

caveat emptor my friends

PS - for the record, I want it to be better here. I want it to be like what the company advertises on their website and like the recruiters make it out to be and like management says they want it to be. problem is - that's its all talk and little action. we give up a major QoL concession in exchange for new reserve rules that were contractually to be in place by early May and its now almost end of July and still *crickets*. I said it back when it happened that you cannot negotiate in good faith with someone that has none. I was *tisked tisked* as a whiner or complainer and that what I was saying just wasn't true... yet here we are... this company will weasel out of the contract any way possible then send out an email saying that they want to 'be the most respected airline' and the 'fly it and grieve it' committee (aka The Union) won't even actually file a grievance... again Caveat Emptor

It's people like Camper1 who are part
of the problem, he is probably a nice guy in person, but doesn't believe that our reps are the problem.
How many reps are on rsv? How many members of the negotiating committee are on Rsv? I would bet my bottom dollar that if the FOs here nonminated and voted in 3 DEC CAs as FO reps, rsv would get fixed here a lot faster, and they know more than anyone where their QOL needs improving the most.
He doesn't see how reps tend to only represent where they are at on the seniority list, and doesn't think we need more to balance the overall representation.

A Union conference call sure would be nice, it's certainly been a long time with rumors running rampant. We haven't had any word since the Senior Man LOA.
