Cartean,
I just wanted to get a feel for how the interview might go if anyone has interviewed lately. Was on airlineinterviews.com but most recent was in June. Also, I would like to hear from current PSA pilots and get a feel on the day to day ops. How you guys like it or hate it... Any info would be great. Thank you!

Well the reserve is typical of any regional. It'll suck and make you hate flying. Once you're a line holder, then life will be 200x better. 97% of the crew are awesome. Training department does a great job. Interview gouges probably hasn't changed much in the past 6 years. If you have the times with no more than 2-3 failed checkrides and a good attitude then you'll be hired. Desk top sim is simple. Just remember to finger fly it. Take off, entry to a hold. ILS approach is what I remembered but that was years ago.
If we get additional airplanes next year then your reserve life will be short and sweet. If we don't, then still expect to hold a line fairly early because 80% of the guys are probably looking for the exit strategy as soon as they can.
Good luck bud!

Thanks a lot Sky! I will study the past gouges to get some more info on the interview. I'm very nervous but I guess that's typical. This will be my first interview so I'm sure it will be a learning experience for me. Hopefully all goes well and it all comes together at the right time. Thanks again bud!

No need to be nervous. If they called you to interview, you are basically a shoe-in. As long as you don't completely bomb the written, talk to the recruiters and show them someone can get along with you for four days in the cockpit, demonstrate at least a mediocre scan in the sim, and don't lie about anything on your paperwork and you will be getting a call for a class date. We need people badly. Do you live in one of the three bases or plan to commute to CLT? There's a bit of a backup right now for CLT, and commuting to TYS or DAY for reserve is not fun.

Unfortunately I will be commuting for the first year at least. My ideal situation would be to get CLT because I live in Fort Myers and there are several direct flights from RSW. All things considered, I will probably get TYS or DAY which for me, would constitute a two leg commute. I hear horror stories about commuting and it is weighing heavy on my mind but being from Fl., I pretty much have no choice. The only other option is Silver (which I did not apply to) and Eagle (which I got the thanks but no thanks email last week).

One concern I have is the stability of TYS as a base. From reading this thread it seems that a TYS closure would not surprise anyone. Of course, it is pointless to contemplate, as no one know what will happen.
I'm furloughed from NetJets and am probably more experienced then the typical applicant so not sure what my chances are. I'm not sure if I will return to NetJets but I could see them questioning whether I would stay at PSA if recalled.
Thanks for any info/advice.

I will be living about 45 mins from TYS and have considered applying to PSA. I would probably bid short call reserve in the hopes of not flying all that much. When calling reserves, is it seniority based or FIFO?

Going to PSA would keep me flying, and see what shakes out over the next couple years. If I did not return to NetJets it would be because I got on with a major or exited the industry all together.
PSA is the only regional that I will consider because I am not willing to commute.
