Their job is to run a profitable operation the same way it's my job to fly pax safely from A to B.
If you don't like their methods so be it. Would you tell a MLB pitcher not to throw his fastball 100mph because it's not fair? No, he throws hard because it gives him the best chance to win.
A successful contract benefits both parties. Unfortunately this time it doesn't benefit the majority of our pilots. Hopefully they realize it.

I agree. The aggressive tone of some of these posts is out of control and completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I hope you realize though that this vote affects every other regional pilot in the country. That is why we are all so focused in following your vote. My pay scale along with those at RAH and Eagle and Mesa, etc, etc. will most likely go down if PSA votes yes. It's a scary thing for all of us! Lets all hold out for raises. It's not out of the question. Roughly $400 million profit in a quarter for the US Airways group is proof that you don't need to take this horrible contract.
Here is the deal though:
I've already voted. I can't do anything more.
If you don't work at PSA, you can't vote. You can't do anything more.
To continue to get your blood pressure up is going to do nothing more than make you mad for the rest of the day. I enjoy my time off. I don't need to be thinking about how angry this work s%#* gets me. Neither do you all.
Airways didn't go into these meeting saying "we really hate PSA lets screw them." They went in there with a business plan that they are trying to execute. Could part of their strategy be to mislead the pilot group? Yes. It is a game they are trying to win....which is their job.
The point of my original post was that this TA needs to be thought of rationally, and without emotion(thats how management does it). You need to make the decision that is best for you, and not get roid rage over the fact that they asked for concessions.....which, again, is their job.
However, your MEC should have rejected anything concessionary.
Your company is making mad profits and you're entertaining concessions?
***??
If you can't talk improvements and making your lives better when the company is super profitable then when exactly will your MEC and union grow a pair if not now.
Concessions to make management more profit than they already get off your back while your FO's are on food stamps? Really?

I know its easy for you STW, pound your chest in management's face types to say....."hold the line." However, when it is YOUR job/family/livelihood/food on the table out there for a vote, its not as easy a choice as you all make it out to be. I know this because I was one of those chest pounders. So you can all quit with the "friendly advice."
IMO you simply cannot afford to not vote no if you are worried for your regional airline job. We will wait a long long time for another ripe opportunity like we have now to stop managements' unnecessary slashing spree.

Will you pick up managements? Do you think they'll put themselves out of jobs? Please finish your "career" at the regional level. We do not need people with zero fortitude at mainline infecting our pilot groups with defeatist attitudes. You regional guys have been abused so much, for so long, that you seem to welcome and justify more of it. No wonder our hiring depts prefer military guys who have at least proven they're willing to fight for something. You guys won't even fight to help yourselves.

During negotiations, management ALWAYS says that you will lose flying/go out of business/go bankrupt if you don't approve the TA.
Normally ALPA would be giving you an unbiased opinion of what the real outcomes may be. Today, ALPA is more worried about the Delta Pilot's Association than they are about you.
Your future is in your hands.

PSA pilots,
Look...I know the fear grenades are strong. But remember that fear cuts deeper than swords.
You will not lose your jobs. Let me repeat: you will NOT lose your jobs over this TA.
The majors are posting record profits, including US Air and AA. They need feed and the supply is dwindling. Staffing is already an issue at many Regionals.
Passing this TA will hurt your career in more ways than you know. Not only will it degrade working conditions for you and everybody at all Regionals, it will make any chance of you ever moving up to a major almost nil.
The endevour pilots fell for Delta's tricks and threats. Eagle pilots didn't. You can be next. The world has changed since COMAIR and that example is no longer valid in today's industry. However it won't stop mangement from subtly using it as a fear tactic.
Stand strong. Mangement can do nothing to you. This is a money grab, nothing more and nothing less.
