400 pilots at PSA means 200 upgrades.
We have approx 250 f/o's.
So if you come to Psa you will not upgrade in less than 2 years.
Do the math. 10 pilot upgrades per month.
20 months to get the 200 upgraded.
Then 5 every month after. The 250th f/o right now on property has at least 30 months before they upgrade. Then all new hires are after that.
A 3 year upgrade average is most realistic.

This guy spreading the good kool-aid…..
PSA and PSA ALPA have both said the options are at PSA in several emailed statements. Truthfully it doesn't really matter if they ever materialize. The options didn't show up last time either. Think of it as a nice talking point because that is all it is. Someone more in the know may provide additional information.
When speaking about MESA all I can say is they have a tremendous amount of hiring to do to staff United E-175s that show up in Spring let alone cover FAR 117 and attrition. Skywest/Expressjet would be more likely to get options in my opinion, but who really knows what AAG management is going to do.
As far as interviews go, plenty of guys have been going over to mainline via the previous agreement signed in the Spring of 2013. US Airways has actually hired more than they were obligated. Many have been successful including a handful of FOs. There is no data yet for the newer agreement as these guys that are interviewing in seniority order are going in next week. They are so far down the seniority list because most senior guys don't care to leave, and are not participating in the interviews. The new agreement, Fall 2013, removes the seat lock/stuck at PSA for a year for newly upgraded captains. Basically I highly doubt US Airways would be hiring from their understaffed wholly owned subsidiary in any appreciable amount, and certainly not the small amount that is guaranteed if it were not for this agreement. The agreement requires the same ratio of pilots per the size of the pilot group as you have for the flow throughs at American Eagle.
The language in the most recent LOAs is what it is. It's two interviews, and not a flow through. There are plenty of other airlines to go to besides AAG, and historically one does not work for the wholly owned of the mainline they hope to work for some day.
Regarding work rules all I can say is that I volunteer with the union, and mostly do contract enforcement. I can assure you that the work rules are only getting better especially with our new contract, and flexing it's language in our favor. The company is in panic mode as far as work rules, and it isn't a secret that they don't like a lot of what was agreed to, but US Airways management pushed it to be done.

Simple. I am from Charlotte and want to be based there to be close to my Aging Grandmother and the remainder of my family who I haven't had the opportunity to live near since 1994. And Yes, I need some 121 experience and hope not to be their long. Can't afford too, the wages that Regional Pilots are subjected to are down right criminal.

Sounds similar to my story...oh that and living in a tent for a couple of years in my life in ****tily adorned nations that want to kill me has made me change what is important and its not making more ca$$$$H, its spending time with free wifi, watching Monday Night Football at 8:30 not 0230, and sleeping next to my wife more than one time every 6-12 months and not missing a whole kids' sports season. But hey that's just me and I guess because I don't scream on a message board or wear an ALPA lanyard I am a scab and a retched soul. May God have mercy on my soul and Go Bucs!!

This thread has derailed, I understand your point as I have worn the same boots that you are referring to. You need to realize that there are people here who spend part of their days being tough guys in the internet while being a nobody who lacks a spine. PSA pilots accepted concessions in exchange for airplanes while their company was profitable, people flock to RAH for the possible quick upgrade and a chance to fly a large RJ, Mesa is getting guys to work there with arguably one of the worse contracts in aviation. People line up to go to Compass whom prior to their new contract was lacking in major areas but offered the chance at a quick upgrade, same for GoJet. There is a fight between ASA pilots and EXJ pilots over a contract and now you have EAGLE getting a chance to amend their contract while the company makes billions in profits annually in exchange for airplanes. I suspect the cuts will be voted in. Many will bark foul but they won't bite, I recommend spending less time arguing with a select few here and just helping pass constructive information to those than seek it. Help educate the younger ones as that lacks in our country.
