The Useful PSA Thread

Cujo, this could be the biggest oppturnity ,in your career, for you to stop the whipsaw by demanding job rights for your crj pilots when they are losing planes to a sister company. You should be fighting for them to have the option to keep their flow spot, longevity, domicile, seat, and a faster seat progression at PSA than they have now at Envoy. Instead you just want the company to suffer so you can add another dollar an hour to the top of the captain pay scale, and you have no leverage unless the company wants something; you don't care about the pilot needs so much as finding your leverage and using it for the senior group. Please prove me wrong I have no intention of displacing another pilot off their own airplanes. The only reason I came to PSA is because it stunk worse every else.
I would have no problem going to envoy if you keep them and got the 170s,if I didn't get laughed out the door. The problem here is your trying to maintain an environment where there is an incentive to say at a regional for 18 years. When we will all be gone in 5-7.

you obviously have no idea what we were fighting for based on your misrepresentations. The problem isn't CA pay being too high; the problem is FO pay being too low. Endeavor proved that with their bonus money. No upgrade in sight, but their classes are full because they're paying them.

Cujo, wouldn't the potential departure of a large chunk of 700 drivers speed up the shrinking process and expedite the upgrades/movement/flow schedule that you are promoting to get people through the Envoy hiring door?

There will be increased hiring at all the LCC and legacy carriers and our guys will have flow to AA at under 6 years as a backup. If the goal is to get to a major, we all agree that demand will allow for sufficient street hiring and obviate the need for flow. That isn't going to happen overnight though. However, real flow is a nice insurance policy to have.

Well sounds like we both agree mainline will take 5-7 years. Why did you fight in vain to fend off 12/4 instead off getting the most you could for it. You have 47 170 outsourced to republic who you knew couldn't handle them. Dozens to asa and skw, and dozens to express jet to and tsa Did you ever submit a proposal to mgmt to get that flying back? Instead you let 800- 1000 dues paying pilots believe they should just leave. The 300 lifers are forgoing at least 1.5 million dollars in career earnings to maintain there Qol. That ought to tell you how important it really is, and instead of creating that for your pilots by trying to get your flying back, prob 80 jets worth you cried race to the bottom $93 at year 12 instead of $104. When all that flying would have surly created a higher Qol for your guys. Something the lifers are paying millions for.

How many guys are on year 13+ pay. How many have paid dues there the last 13 years and aren't? Screw the many to help the few. Telling a dues paying members it looks bleak go find another job is beyond pathetic, but maybe if enough do mgmt will give us bonuses.<img src="images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" smilieid="1" class="inlineimg" />. Pathetic man.

Your mentality is exactly what's wrong with the regional industry.
thankfully, it looks like our management may have realized what we've been telling them, keep the planes, start upgrading and people will stay and come here. Now let's see how they play it.

I wish it was, I don't like the situation. It seems though to many pilots live and die by what's in their logbook, and the noble thing to do is not worry about it, wait it out and wither on the vine for a "better deal" for a company you wont spend 5,or 5 more years at.

Really? you go tell a NY FO that drives to work and picks up tons of OT because it's easy so close to base grossing $60k; that their base is closing and they should commute across the country, forget about the $20k OT, start paying for a Crashpad from their meager FO pay, start paying $80 a month for parking, and spend an extra 15-20 hours a month commuting uncompensated..... That their 11-12 days off requires them to commute in the day before each trip so they only have 7-8 days off a month at home.... When they can walk simply walk into Endeavor and get an instant $10k pay raise, stay based at home, and with all the hiring we both agree is coming they'll be street hired someplace better..... Your right, they should ALL stay right here.
