Absolutely, my best friend is TYS based and finished IOE in October, hasn't flown once since then. He was telling me 120 + FO's in TYS, 58 Lines of flying for December.

Spring hire, holding build-up line in Day, reserve in Clt. Things have slowed and I'm not surprised. Why would anyone come here when you can go to another regional for more pay, better bases and better contract. Psa claims the "quick" upgrade will get people here in droves; they need to change their thinking. Pay and quality of life are huge. More planes and flow is not the main attraction anymore.

Interviewing has began again in earnest... I'm hearing groups of 8-12 /day. The company projects needing 1,000 through the next 2 years and there are still dozens of aircraft slated for delivery and more 900 options not yet exercised. There have obviously been some growing pains but the training backlog has decreased considerably and there is now more infrastructure and personnel in place to handle a large influx of new hires. With very few FOs having been hired in the past few months, there has been a little stagnation. But nothing to worry about. Been here a year and I'm very close to round 1 in CLT as an FO and I've been holding a round 2 line for the past 2 months. Crediting over 85 hours next month. Once the hiring begins again in full swing movement will come quick. Still lots of upgrade potential here with all the aircraft deliveries and the continuous movement off the top of our list from our flow of 5 /month. Not to mention, we have just started seeing the tip of the iceberg of this mainline hiring wave. Over half of my class has either left for greener pastures (Delta, Jet Blue, Allegiant, etc) or upgraded and that trend is only going to accelerate and continue. The relatively quick upgrade will continue for a while for those just coming in with 1500 hours. This place has its share of problems, but I still think it's one of the better places to work at for a new guy just getting into 121. I'm sure the company will start offering a bonus if it begins having a hard time attracting applicants.

I am an FO in the September 28th class. We're not seeing any training delays at all. 6 weeks for indoc, got an oral immediately after indoc, we got 2.5 weeks off, then 10 days in the sims. I'm not sure how our training schedule looks after the sims but everything has proceeded on time as expected and I don't foresee any delays along the way. I got awarded a CVG base for January....just in time for the projected training to pick up!

Plus 6 solid round 2 lines, and 5 more hybrid lines (flying and SCR). Additionally, 8 LCR and the rest is SCR. It is not the ideal package, but it is not as bad as some people portrait it. Is it half full or half empty? everyone has their opinions. Also, it is worth nothing that those lines are credited in the range of 80 to 85 average. The only bad move I saw was that every single one of the schedules was either working on the 24, 25 or both. But I guess it is expected because of the holidays.

True, I will try to see if I can get it off which is unusual on your first year in any airline. It kind of suck that the company is not waiting jan 2 to start the upgrades.
