The sept. 28th class was a measly 6. 3 DEC's and 3 FO's.

There is a class starting Jan4th. I interviewed back in Sept but I asked to defer till the 1st of the year. They responded with the Jan4th class, but I have no idea how many people are in that same day.

Do they run FO/DEC classes and Upgrade classes simultaneously?

Upgrade classes were generally every two weeks and start on a Tuesday. FO classes start on a Monday every two weeks. So they can run simultaneously but you won't cross paths with upgrade people because you'll be in a separate class room.

Having worked at two different regionals myself, I'm curious why you think PSA is a horrible contract. What other contracts have you worked under? Specifically, why is it "horrible?"
For those who are reading this who are new to the industry, and looking at different regionals, PSA contract is not horrible and the pay is essentially the same as most other regionals. Find a place that works for you long term and go. It is a regional, end of story.

I'm almost certain they're done hiring DEC's too. My class was one of the last, if not THE last.

Does anyone have some insight on the regulations of the advertised flow through? Like how many per month/percentage of AA training class is composed of PSA pilots? Is an upgrade necessary to flow if so how long can new hires expect to wait to upgrade? Additionally is there any cause preventing PSA pilots from applying to AA off the street?

Thanks!

In it's current form the flow is useless to a new hire. If you are interested in flowing to AA go to Piedmont.

what makes you say that? not trying to call you out, but are you a current PDT employee? Thats fine if you are I'm just looking for some justification to that claim.

But the short answer is yes, I am looking to get to AA envoy seems to be a decent move, but who knows anything for sure...

Honestly, at this point, a new hire is more likely to make it to a major by the regionals being dissolved and mainline taking the flying back as opposed to an actual flow. If hiring is as bad as currently forecast, the regionals will be long gone before a new hire flows to mainline, including a new hire at PDT.

At this point, go somewhere that you can live in base, or have an easy commute, somewhere that you can upgrade in 2 years or less, and somewhere that you are treated well.
