If by out maneuver you mean bring hiring to a screeching halt, totally deteriorate pilot morale, and increase attrition thereby creating a looming staffing crisis, then yes, he is maneuvering very well.

I mean by stealing thousands from round 1 captains and hundreds from round 1 FO's. Also moving the rsv targets preventing trades for round 2 and rsv guys. He also just spent a ton of money today with his announcements and the pilots get nothing.

So the union will play hard ball with the company when it involves FO pay because it doesn't affect them, saying they'll come back with something better is easy then. How come they urged us to vote in the flow with the argument that there's no guarantee the company will offer better take what you can get now. They're only looking out for their own interests.
Some truth to this

Yes, but 2 years ago PSA was filling classes, taking airplanes, and upgrading. Now they are losing more pilots than they can hire, deferring deliveries and not upgrading. The playing field has changed.
Just think if Republic hadn't been trying to stay cheap and had raised pay to $40hr 2 years ago then they probably wouldn't be in bankruptcy today.
Endeavor has been giving 20-23k per year to every pilot on property for over a year now and I don't see them losing more pilots than they can hire.
AAG seems to think this flow is some kind of golden ticket that we are all fighting to get when its not. Its like a life preserver at a kiddie pool, sure it's nice that it's there, but we're pretty sure we won't need it.

It's spot-on!
Turning down this ridiculous and insulting offer from little Dion costs me nothing! ZERO! I lost nothing,..... because I didn't stand to GAIN anything in this offer. I didn't forgo a raise in pay, I didn't lose an increase in flow, I won't be missing out on any increase in benefits, and I haven't given away any 401k match. I lost nothing!
What I HAVE gained is a renewed vigor when it comes to discouraging potential new hire pilots from coming to PSA.
Go ahead Dion. Try to plss me off some more!
Thanks you MEC for making the right call.

I never worked for a company that denied a bonus. I find it hard seeing anything good coming from this.. a 20% pay increase if not more shot down by the same people supporting my interests. A bonus that would grant every FO on property breathing room. I really hope I am wrong in not supporting this decision.

Ok, so he saved a nickel to spend a nickel elsewhere. It only counts as out maneuvering if his maneuvers work. By crapping on the current pilot group and not honoring the contract he is defeating his own cause, which is to GROW the airline. So far he is only causing the airline to stagnate. Great maneuvering.

Compass, Endeavor, Skywest, Express jet, Trans States, Republic (pending BK), and even gojet!
Most of these companies have far better contracts and hub bases. I'll say it again, PSA has nothing worth commuting for.
