So with a 10k bonus a new PSA pilot will still make less than;

Compass, Endeavor, Skywest, Express jet, Trans States, Republic (pending BK), and even gojet!

Most of these companies have far better contracts and hub bases. I'll say it again, PSA has nothing worth commuting for.

I couldn't disagree more. Now the company is going to be further up 5h1ts creek when it comes to attracting new hires and they will likely have to come back with something. And if they don't, then people leave en masse.

Just a reminder to all of the captains...

You have given up absolutely nothing for this. Your FOs have. They are scrounging to get by in life, and $20,000 has been taken from them. That $20,000 is a lot of money when you are only making $24k a year.

No captain should be celebrating. You have not earned the right with this battle. Once you actually give something up, you can celebrate.

If any FO has to buy their own dinner or beverage of choice without a captain offering to pay for it, shame on you. All of the FOs that I know are celebrating this, and think that it will be good for all employees. They have the right. They have given something up. Captains have not.

If I hear one more idiot on DC's Facebook group congratulate themselves even though they have given nothing up, I am going to call pro-standards and say that they were touching me inappropriately.

THIS^ 10K is a drop in the bucket. And what pilot with a 1,000 hours of 121 time is looking to come to PSA at this point? The company is delusional. But they are just middle management essentially. AAG is calling the shots. And honestly, I don't think they expected PSA and PDT to reject their FO retention bonuses. I think they expected all 3 wholly owneds to accept them with open arms. We'll see what they decide to do when their feed starts to suffer because their wholly owneds can't staff.

Dion inherited a profitable and growing airline. Currently it's in decline. There's no disputing that.

He has tried several "gimmicks" to save/restore/grow his airline and his reputation. All have failed.
* Gimmicky change from SSP to flow,
* Gimmicky (and paltry) increase in flow,
* Gimmicky arrangements with flight schools,
* Gimmicky signing bonuses, (demonstrating his contempt for our collective bargaining agreement), and now
* Gimmicky "retention" bonuses.

It would appear that Dion is running out of (failed) gimmicks and he's gonna have to offer something substantial and beneficial to ALL of his pilots,..... if he wants to avoid being known as the guy who failed to make PSA prosper,.... AFTER TAKING OVER FROM KEITH HOUCK!!!!!!

I'm not saying it's right. But every captain has paid the price of 1st year wages. Don't think we don't know what it's like. All wage increases should be company wide. Not just a specific group. I support our MECs decision. Not sure how ALPA national sleeps at night.

Bingo. I spent years as an FO on reserve with the old pre13 contract, 72 hr guarantee 10 days off and hardly ever flying to get per diem or break guarantee. Sorry if I don't have pitty on current FOs who spent a month or two on reserve and got their 20k bonus taken out of their hands. In time you will see the MEC did the right thing (Aboveandbeyond)

I paid the price of F/O wages for 6 years including collecting unemployment checks during a furlough. This company is built on the backs of us still around. We voted in the terrible LOA that allowed the company to become what it is today. Without our "yes" vote, Dion and everyone else in DAY wouldn't be making the money they are today. Management has always beaten us down. I'm glad TR held the line. Eff this company. They don't deserve any pilot currently on property.

I was a first year FO for......well, a year.

When I was it was at 10 days minimum off. I never broke guarantee for the first 2 years. Along with that My perdiem was very small to non-existent.

The last FO I flew with sat 2 whole weeks of reserve and then went right into a round 1 line. Yes that same round 1 with the SAP. The same SAP that none of us had as FOs. He had the ability to not work his birthday, his wife's birthday, his kid's birthday, Xmas, Thanksgiving, New Year.....the list goes on.......We never had any of that.

Tell me again how we gave nothing up.

You're coming off pretty douchey here bud.
