I've heard this from many. Even DEC's. Most of us were waiting on something to break to before making a decision. I can go to gojet right now have a commutable base, make a lot more than I do here, upgrade still on the horizon, and not sit any reserve if I go now. I mean GOJET REALLY!!!!

Nothing changed. The company came to ALPA and offered an incentive to only 1 part of the pilot group. We are a Union and any bonuses should be divided up evenly.
$20k probably isn't going to do much to keep someone from leaving to Jet Blue or wherever.
It's time management makes positive changes for everyone on property. Accepting a bribe is very short sighted.
Every one keeps looking at this as a bribe to the pilot group. It's a bribe to new hires with some thing extra for current FOs. Every one has to remember they are a number to PSA management. You are worth no more and actually less in their eyes than a new guy because he will do your job on a junior pay scale. No changes will be made as long as they have a number to do the job. We have the people to do the current job of flying the planes we have just not the numbers to do the flying of future planes. The company can and will still bribe the new hires while the current people get nothing. Even if people say enough and leave the company will just bribe new hires with more. The more people that leave the quicker a new hire will move up which is always an airlines best selling point. Look at Mesa. That quick upgrade and movement always brings bodies in.

I know 2 DECs in my class with apps out. one will leave with any takers and one has a 6 month window if unable to relocate to the base that was why he came here.

They are not flying. Cant get into the base they want and will not be able with the lack of people behind us.

For me pay doesn't matter it is all peanuts and I don't need to fly--

It is QOL...which is complete crap here, and not in anyway what was represented in the hiring process.

But hot reserve day one (despite open time that would allow me to commute up, no flying for 5 days except deadheads in and out of base to baby sit broken 200s or sit hot out of base (buying my own hotels) then day 6 assign me flying that prevents me from getting home. It has happened in the last 4 reserve periods.

Until our numbers show it I will only take people's cries of I'm leaving at face value. Look how long people stayed at Comair, REPUBLIC and how many people have stuck it out at Envoy. This industry is not favorable for airline hoping unfortunately.

People didn't stay at Republic. That's why they couldn't fulfill their contract. And people aren't staying here. Our list shrinks almost every month I've been here and that has mostly been 1.5 or less year FOs.

Mesa doesn't offer a quick upgrade anymore.

American's net income was $7.6 Billion in 2015, we need 23K annual bonuses for everyone on property at PSA just to compete and fill classes. Management does not understand the depth of the pilot shortage and it's only getting worse. 10K just for FOs proves that point when Endeavor is offering 23K for everyone on property. The quick upgrade train is over at PSA.

Become an Endeavor Air Pilot

Guaranteed first and second year pay is 50K and 53K at Endeavor. Endeavor is growing and anyone hired now will upgrade in two years along with a guaranteed interview at Delta. Guaranteed first and second year pay is 32K and 31K at PSA.

I should have got up and walked out of class the moment the VP guy came in and gave the fish speech and how we were worth less than whale poop to the company. I almost did. Regret it now. At least he was warning us. Sometimes you can't see the flashing light even thou they are right in front of you

I was shocked when i walked into a class of 8...

then 3 where dispatchers...

I bought the "training bubble and slowing down hiring to get them though" BS.

Management is good at deception and a typically positive minded person will accept it.

Talk with your feet and go to Endeavor where you'll make a minimum of 50K+ as an FO. They're adding two planes a month. Upgrade will reach two years by the end of 2016 if not earlier.
