I currently live within 1.5 hr drive of CLT which is why I'm considering applying to PSA.
What is the current time until I could expect to hold a line in CLT?
Can I get reserve in CLT during training? And if so, what would trips & QOL be like?
I appreciate any info. you could give.
PM me if anyone in a similar situation wants to share their experiences. Thanks

I just left PSA. I was hired in March of 2015 and was 30 away from line in CLT. Expect reserve for 1.5-2 years. With the staffing issue for FOs I would expect you would fly on all reserve days which means 11 days off a month. 2 HR reserve call out at PSA, so living at home would be a great option. Unless you want to move - PSA may be the best place for your QOL. Good luck.

I've got a buddy who was hired in March 2015 who is holding a round 2 line... Unless you're referring to round 1. And I wouldn't expect 1.5 - 2 years of reserve for someone hired today. I think roughly 1 year to hold a round 2 in Charlotte. They are still actively adding lines and it will increase coming into the high tide of summer travel. Anyway, sorry to see you go and best of luck wherever you land!

I could hold a round 2 line, but choose reserve because I live within the reserve call out and I am home with my family more days than not.
A round 1 line may give you better schedule flexibility thanks to SAP.
Both rd 1 and rd 2 lines will probably pay more by breaking guarantee and more per diem.
TL/DR Living in base on reserve is sometimes better than a junior line.
