I'm chuckling because I'm thinking the EXACT same thing...except in reference to another round at the regionals instead of another round of fatherhood! Congrats.

Thanks.

If you've got the time, there's a couple ULCCs/LCCs that would be slightly better than a lateral move.

I do have the time, but I'm getting back into the job and I'd rather do some real hardcore flying like you do as a commuter pilot. It was actually some of the best memories and most fun I had flying 20 years ago, apart from the horrendous pay and work rules.

I have several friends at Spirit and Frontier who said I could go there but I'd just rather wait a few years and try to get my last ten at UAL, SWA, FEX, DAL, etc. However, knowing my luck the way I do in this industry, we'll see how it goes.

I do know I'll enjoy the crews and have fun "reliving" the 90's!

Like I said, pay is better at Endeavor right now. The Delta CEO is on record saying the 50's dont have a replacement in 5 years and that he really isn't all too committed to the 2 class RJ. Short term, Endeavor may be better, yes. But is that where you want to be when the economy pulls back? Bringing back some of the 50's is good for now, but I'd still be cautious. Delta is an excellent company to work for, but you won't be working for Delta.

The PSA upgrade is still under 2 years...for now. And besides, commute to New York, no thank you.

If you wait till fall you'll probably have 200 guys ahead of you by then. I think you're in a good spot, just have to be patient. If you have more than 400 below you here I think anyone would tell you you're making a mistake. Congrats on kid number 3 my man. Enjoy em while they're young.

I would tend to agree with the assessment of Endeavor. I think if you were on property 6+ months ago you stand to make out pretty well. Going there now is a real gamble.

I'm just outside being in the top 50% here. I'm in no hurry to jump ship. I'm just watching and waiting because I have no other choice. If other places keep trending in the right direction while we continue to slide downhill, a lateral move may not be a bad thing. I think Republic is going to be good but this fall will probably be too late for them as well.

Ok so before anyone bashes me for quotes and references, I want to get it out in the open that this is purely my opinion and based upon nothing more than my intuition. If you are in the top 50% on a seniority list anywhere than stay put before moving laterally. I believe, whole whole-heartedly, that the reason the flow is just smoke and mirrors for everyone not super senior is because everyone within the top 50% of any regional seniority list will get hired outside of a flow somewhere worth being within 5 years. So why sacrifice seniority, qol, and pic time to jump ship now when unless a market crash, or airline crash, or another unknown would stop you from going anyways. Enjoy the qol why you have it and put the apps out for better things.. But don't jump ship for the relatively same thing with less seniority now.

How junior/senior is current the captain upgrade going to go? Any guess on hire dates?
