Yea, it doesn't look that great next month for changing around days but hopefully you spent time on ur bid and got a schedule you wanted. I got about the best schedule I could ask for though despite working weekends. I'm hoping this means I'll get even more flights off reserve and logging more time... Maybe break guarantee if I'm lucky.
I don't get anything desirable...about 10 from the bottom.
I measure my seniority from the bottom so i don't have to update it
(The 7 who moved into base for the next period don't affect my math) First ship out of town and I am on it.
I am not waiting on my #1 choice anymore either.
I personally believe this place is in a death spiral.
I have completed a few applications and will jumpship with the first confirmation...2 more months and I will float out on my own.

Not being able to move days just killed anything I could do.

No death spiral here. It's been crappy recently but much of that seems worse than it really is because it's being compared to the past two years of exponential growth. There was no way that could be sustained indefinitely. AAG will not let PSA die (or any wholly owned), especially with other regional feed on shaky ground.

Saying PSA is in a "death spiral" is an insane over exaggeration. We aren't anywhere close to that kind of scenario. We are wholly owned. We have 76 seat airplanes. We are currently relatively cheap compared to the competition. Our flying isn't going anywhere. If we can't hire, further growth beyond our 100+ airplanes will be deferred, that is all. We are currently staffed for our flying. In a couple months, that may not be the case, but for right now things are just fine. I would expect to see the lines increase and become more efficient by the summer as our flying increases but we continue to have a challenge with hiring. I wouldn't be surprised to see 90+ hour lines as a new norm come June.

Then we have negative FO reserves to pick up the slack, and we have FOs avoiding the JrMan calls. We only have so many LCAs that they can call.
The next option would be downgrading the DECs, but since we all already left 1 airline for DEC do you think we wouldn't leave PSA for another airline for DEC, especially knowing we would re upgrade in seniority order.
The problem is we are properly staffed for now. Potential applicants know that. They know there is little to zero growth at PSA, they know the prospect of a fast upgrade is gone, and the know the likely hood of getting hired outside a flow is very good.
Outside of actually living in one of our non hub bases there is no incentive to come to PSA.
PSA may not be in a death spiral yet, but we are pretty well established in the stall that precedes it.

Many including myself wouldn't really even SAP if I could get a 100 hour line with 14-15 days off. The point is that our lines would become much more efficient. And that would solve some of the staffing issues temporarily. I expect this management to put as many band aids on the boo boo as possible until they decide to do something appreciable about it.

Moral is lower than any organization I have ever been a part of or seen and I have been around layoffs/RIFs.
Managment let the "magic" and momentum leave for who knows why. Incompetence is rampant at all levels..how many basic systems have been down in the last month alone. It is almost comical.
The place has a union that over plays its hand with the company. AA Mgt knows that those that can leave will and those that cannot will not. once that shakes out--depending on what they want they may make some changes but nothing significant and not for months. Why pay more than you have too.
There is nothing realistic to turn the ship around.
Not only can they not hire pilots, they cannot hire Maint...
In the least 4 weeks I have heard directly from 5 pilots who had to declare an emergency...2 in the same airplane different days with a flaps fail. 1 engine shut down, another aileron jam can't remember the 5th but it was control related..call it four...RIDICULOUS and dangerous.

I agree they will let this place limp along as long as possible before they fix anything.
I'm curious to see if they will replace Dion to let someone else try and fix this mess before they actually do what's required. Raise pay and fix the contract.
