Captains can't go back to the right seat. Nothing it the contract talks about it.

Does anything in your contract say that they can't?

I'm not a terribly vocal person, but I have zero hope for anything changing in June. So I see this as a ton of garbage. I was thrilled that we turned it down the first time. To cave in now worries me. What's coming? No more growth? Hiring for attrition forever? They just unwittingly established that they plan on upgrades being 2 years. That doesn't jive with what they keep telling us for career progression.
I'm not a dick, great fo the FOs, but big picture this isn't good.

I live in base but you can bet your asses I'll be getting hotels after every trip.

I'll check in, walk out, and drive home.

Default FO vs. CA interests.

If you want to flow to AA, you need the FO #'s to come ( and stay w/PSA). It is the only way you will get the monthly flow # to a better place.

A) it'll get you on the AA list sooner, ie. seniority / pay value will far exceed the value of the quarterly bonus.

B) With the current 'attrition only' type hiring, you can count on annual hold backs to Dec of whatever flow year you end up in. Jan 1 flow can be held to Dec. of that year. Huge loss of seniority/pay/longevity. There is no doubt that this will be the case moving forward without FO hiring/retention.

C) current RSV / junior CA's will see a seniority / QOL bump from new UPG meat at bottom.

There is a tangible benefit to every segment of the pilot group that should not be overlooked. Keep your eye on the ball. The MEC did the right thing for everybody here.

My worry here is that it scuttled any improvements in June before we even try.

I think it has been made very clear that there will be no more improvements come June. Or did you hear Doug Parker and Dion Flannery say something completely different?

So then how does this benefit anyone in the left seat?

How did that piece of crap LOA that you signed a few months ago help anyone in the right seat? It hurt all of the FOs. The Captains wouldn't have to interview, and the FO's got screwed with displacements. There is not one person that was hired in the last 2 years will ever flow to AA.

Every situation is not a win-win for everyone.
