DCA and ORD seem like the biggest rumors as far as a base. One of the CPs was on our flight last week and really seemed confident on DCA when talking to us...but don't believe a word they say until someone is actually based there.
Honestly I can believe DCA more than i can with ORD.
Just my 2 cents

A couple of management pilots and I were in a discussion this weekend and looking at the numbers at PSA.
Right now, a person that was hired 2 years ago has an average attrition rate above them of 12 per month. It is higher at first, and slows down some - but up to this point, someone could expect to move up 275 spots in 2 years.
The attrition at the top is much higher recently. Besides the flow, we are losing a lot of senior captains to Delta and United (and a few others)
If you combine that attrition with the 30ish new airplanes that we are receiving, it is expected that everyone on the seniority list at PSA right now should upgrade in 24 months or less.

If you take a look at the seniority list, there are many pilots listed as "management". Those would be the full time management pilots. There are others that are part time. People who do more for the company than fly the airplane. Chief pilots, fleet managers, training department managers, safety department, operations, and others.

I believe that we are adding 35-37 more CRJ700's. That alone will add about 200 captain vacancies. They should be coming late first quarter or early second quarter 2017. (about 5-6 months from now). That should give us time to get people through new hire training, upgrade a decent number, and get everyone through IOE before the airplanes start arriving.
PSA has proven they they can successfully add a lot of airplanes to their fleet in a short amount of time - provided there are pilots available to join the company. The addition of the 900's went very smoothly with all things considered. The major hiccup was hiring enough pilots.
With the additional money available, there should be more than enough pilots to fill all of the vacancies.
I have heard that we have over 50 interviews set up for the next 2 weeks alone. We will easily be able to fill October 10th and October 24th with no issues whatsoever.
There are quite a few lateral transfers coming on board soon as well.

Applications seem to be WAY up. I am hearing that we are getting quite a few lateral transfers from other airlines.
So far, it isn't quite like all of the lateral transfers that we were getting in 2014, but it is growing.
If PSA is able to get the additional 900's, actually accepts the additional 700's, and opens another good and commutable base, then it might actually hit 2014 levels again.
In other news, Delta seems to be picking up quite a few pilots lately. I know of 2 of my friends that were just offered class dates and will be leaving this year. I would be surprised if attrition doesn't hit 20+ a month by the end of the year.

I would try and talk to a recruiter on the phone I'm sure you'd have no problem getting an interview setup.

I've heard of a handful of qualified applicants getting the TBNT emails. We've been inundated with applications though so it actually appears it is competitive to get hired here now.

Supposedly having someone refer you actually makes your application stand out. This is true for all of the WO. Just find someone to refer you before you send in your application.
I would expect skype interviews for the current 121 pilots from other regionals to start up within a month or two. If they have 5000 hours in the CRJ with AWAC or Mesa, they can easily pass our technical interview. A quick skype "get to know you" is all that is really needed. This isn't rocket science.
