New hire pay at PSA is $38.50/hr. You will receive 75 hours credit per month, plus per diem 24/7.

That makes it $4,147 a month while in training, plus the new hire bonuses. That is pretty good money for base pay during training, especially when the bonus is an additional $15,000.

It starts on the check tomorrow. The pay stubs are out and it reflects the new rates.

During the 5 weeks in Dayton, is that continuous or are there days off in there? ie, will we be away from home 5 weeks straight? (pre-hire question...)

It will be hard to get home, but yes, you will have days off.

You will start getting flight benefits a couple weeks in. Some people had their wives/significant others come and visit them.

I can't remember the exact breakdown. Someone that has been through more recently might be able to give you better numbers.

Indoc: 6 days
Systems: 8 days?
IPT's: 10 days
End of Course: 1 day
CSI: 3 days

Or something like that.

Then you will take your oral, and off to sims.

Our class went as a group to the Air Force Museum on one weekend. We also had a lot of "fellowship" time at some local restaurants.

If you are hired soon, you will likely be in training during the holidays. I know they give you something like 4 or 5 days off for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but you make it up on Saturdays.
