Supposedly having someone refer you actually makes your application stand out. This is true for all of the WO. Just find someone to refer you before you send in your application.
I would expect skype interviews for the current 121 pilots from other regionals to start up within a month or two. If they have 5000 hours in the CRJ with AWAC or Mesa, they can easily pass our technical interview. A quick skype "get to know you" is all that is really needed. This isn't rocket science.

Find someone to refer you. It does seem to be the difference between getting a TBNT and an interview invite in a lot of cases. I've talked to several who have had a TBNT and a few of them were otherwise well qualified but just didn't get a rec from a pilot.

The company will pay them money, but it is not coming out of your pocket. You are gaining a job.

It's pathetic that people even believed that at all. Even more pathetic the company had to send an email about it. Just like TYS has been closing for the last 8 years. What a bunch of dopes.

I work here, I was saying I would "help" them out by refering them. I think it's rediculous they're turning people away from interviews already. 2 years ago they were interviewing plenty more each week then the sudden jump in applications were receiving right now.

On the topic here, however, to get the bonus, you must refer the person before they apply. After they get a TBNT letter, the current employee is not eligible for any referral bonuses. If the current employee still wants to reach out to a recruiter and ask them to take another look at him, and that gets him the job, he is then doing the candidate a favor with no reward.
If I talked to the candidate and thought he might be a good fit at PSA (no major felonies - lol), then I would reach out to a recruiter and ask that they take another look at the candidate. Sometimes people do get lost in the shuffle. I would not expect a referral bonus for this.

I get the "it's just a regional" mentality, but if you want the job you still need to accurately and truthfully fill out your application. TBNT's are going out to some because of a sloppy, embellished, or incomplete app. Remember, an application or resume is a companies first impression of you. Bad first impressions are difficult to recover from.
