After year 1, it is easy to credit 1000. I will credit over 1200 hours this year. (Vacation, ground school, PC, LOFT, cancellations, dead heads, SDO, and critical days all add up)

During the first year, it is possible if you get through training quickly. Else, you will not. But you will still make $58,500, or more.

Per diem is NOT counted in this money.

During training, you are paid per diem 24 hours a day for the full time that you are there. You can actually make quite a bit, especially because the hotel gives you free breakfast and a free bag lunch.

That is the one thing that has made me angry about the other advertising, especially Republic. Republic counts per diem, health care contributions, and every other possible benefit into their "salary".

In addition to the actual bonus and pay, PSA gives you on-time performance bonuses ($50 or $100 per month), $3000 hotel reimbursement, and yearly profit sharing.

If you are not getting someone to refer you before you apply to PSA, you are; 1) hurting your chances to get a quick interview and class date and, 2) wasting free money. FIND SOMEONE TO SHARE THE MONEY WITH YOU. IT IS LIKE A FREE $1500 (after taxes).

 

Dont forget company provided iPads! New hires will never have to carry paper charts!

I can make more money by not being on time. Such a lousy bonus for a pathetic stat that AA is obsessed about.

 

There are a lot of flights that are darn near impossible to overblock. I have been arriving 30-40 minutes early about 1/3 of my flights lately. For those, I am on time because it is impossible to overblock without drawing serious attention to yourself unless there is a ramp closure or the like. Also, on day 4, no one wants to overblock. That, combined with the people that are always on time, and we are about at the threshold for the bonus anyways.

 

D:0 is the dumbest thing. I'd be more concerned with arrival time than departure. I'd rather have a lower departure rating cause we waited for passengers instead of leaving them, than have a great departure rating with horrible customer service. Which is what AA is doing, and the latest ratings show it with them trailing horrible in the eyes of the public.

They need to start with making sure DP leaves the bar on time before it's too late like he's use to.

 

That would make sense, but it isn't how the DOT measures it. Until they change it, AA won't change it.

They should measure arrival times, not departure times. Passengers do not care if they leave 5 minutes late if they still arrive 10 minutes early. A regional airline's main goal should be for passengers to make their connections. We need to arrive on time at the hub, with as many passengers as we could get from the outstations - and leave the hub with as many passengers as possible.

I don't control how they record the times, but I will gladly take the $800-$1000 a year in free money that they give us.

 

The most often reported statistic from the DOT is the A:15 number.

Airlines emphasise D:0 because a flight that departs on time has a better chance of arriving on time.

 

AA don't care about passengers, they already have their money. So if they want to fly or not they don't care, they have their money.
