We have a few guys that commute from the west coast. Personally, I never would even consider it, but some people like doing it.

It is possible, especially the redeyes. Guys will pick trips with early shows the first day with only 1 or 2 legs. Take the redeye in, fly a little bit, and be in the hotel by noon.

Anywhere is commutable but this one would suck significantly. You'd have to two leg it to DAY or CVG on your days off for a few months then reserve to CLT for at least a year. Youre quality of life will be next to none. Live in base

Trying to see about tracking down an email for a current PSA pilot. Does PSA have a format for emails as first name.last [email protected]?

If a current PSA pilot could PM me, I'll give you his name if you can help me get in touch with him.

Thanks!

As has already been said. For DAY or CVG it's a 2 leg commute once you can hold CLT it's a 1 leg commute for a year+ on reserve.

I would look at compass first. SEA base and currently 6-8 month upgrade with prior 121

I'm more curious why you would even consider PSA? There are several airlines with much better pay and contracts that would be a much much easier commute.

CVG doesn't have to be a 2 leg commute to/from SEA. The DHL carriers do direct daily flights and Delta has a morning flight to SEA and a redeye from SEA (though it may be seasonal, it ran at least over the summer). I have a good friend who does it once a month to head home and I have done it to visit family. To qualify all of that it isn't a commute I would want to tackle 3-4 times a month. If your desire is to fly as much as possible as soon as possible, sit minimal reserve time, and don't mind stacking your schedule together so that you have a solid week off and commute back; I would say it may be worth doing it. If your plan is to fly a standard line and go home once a week, I would encourage you to consider other options.

Best of luck to you,
DD

Rumor has it that the next two weeks should hold some big and good news for PSA.
