I live well below it and it is very commutable for me... Not as commutable as CLT, but still very commutable. And besides, a new hire from "below the mason Dixon line" can still hold CLT really quick right now anyway.

I think the goal is to take the pilots from Air Wisconsin and Mesa that are already based in the DC area.

It's funny, this is exactly what management probably wants. A bunch of us going on APC and talking about a DCA base opening up, while management has not directly said we are getting a DCA base. The prospective applicants on the fence that make career decisions based on internet forum rumors are now applying and management gets a huge jump in applicants without having to make the expensive operational commitment to open a new base. Something doesn't seem right, or they would make it official. I won't believe it until the effective date of bid for the base opening happens. But I do hope it happens, junior CLT pilots would have great seniority movement.

I've heard Republic will be out of DCA all together and PSA will do all the 70-76 seat RJ stuff out of there. I don't think DCA will be all that senior if it is a base for PSA although commuters that are currently two legging it to our out station bases would love a second hub base.

I hate to say it. But I agree. Seems like I see less and less rjet flying there since we started flying our 'larger' aircraft to DCA. But I'm hopeful for the new domicile.

On a side note, I did not know that 3 of the people in our top management team came from Air Wisconsin. He introduced them to everyone today.
Who were the people from AWAC? I know at least one left for PSA...kind of curious who else in case our management has not announced their departure...which I am not surprised about.

Only hope for AWAC now with AA is some flying scraps in ORD.
