It looks like the most JR DAY guy to get a build up line for October was a June hire. Those guys belive they will get a round 1 within the next couple of months

Always live in base. Reserve in base is still a good life. Commuting to reserve is terrible.

We seem to be doing a lot more PHL flying in November, plus a few new airports.

I'm reading how junior DAY is...fairly feasible to think one could get TYS by the time training is complete?

You should be able to yes. I believe the newest TYS FO's are currently in IOE (maybe even still in Dayton)

But don't expect to hold any kind of flying line quickly like you can in DAY.

How permanent are the bases? ie, vary from month to month or are they assigned?
For example, if I said I wanted to base in TYS but then had a hard time commuting there, could I decide to base in CLT?

You can change your bid for base at any time. It will become effective on the next base bid assignment provided that you can hold it with your seniority. There is typically a base bid once a month. It normally takes effect the following month. (It may take a month, but it is not hard to bid out of CLT).

Once you hold a line, you can also SAP down to 65 hours (usually 3 four day trips, and maybe 1 more day to make 65), and then pick up additional trips later in the other base. You can then try to swap one of your trips with a trip from the other base. Some guys are based in one city, but half of their trips start in another base.

What is DOH for the junior line holder in each of the 4 bases currently?
