If you want it off yes. Round 2 guys and reserves have to fly it. Like last New Years everybody took off.

Yep.

They'd probably help themselves if they instituted some 200% Holiday Pay.

If you SAP down to 65 hours do you still get paid for 75?

Negative. Your guarantee is adjusted to whatever you SAP down to, below 75.

No. If you SAP below 75 you get paid that. However a lot of guys, myself included, sap down to 65ish hours and pick up a trip in open time for 125%. Then hope and pray one of those days goes critical. (Pays 150% at a minimum of 6 hrs/ day)

No, you get paid 65. But, after the bids are finalized, you can then go back and pick up additional flying for extra money. SAP to 65, then pick up a 20 hour trip later to bring you to 85, and get paid 90 or more if it goes critical.

If you SAP to 65, you should be able to do that with (3) four day trips and possibly a 1 day. So, work 13 days a month, with 17 off. Then, pick up a 20 hour 4 day, end up getting paid at least 90, and get 14 days off.

And the days off are the ones that you want off. No need to work when you don't want to. I have never missed an important family holiday/birthday/kid event.

So what is a round 2 pilot?

And what percent of the list comprise round 2 and reserve pilots?

Last month, CLT had 289 FO's assigned (not all are active). #232 on that list was the most junior round 1 line holder.

After round 1 bidding closes, we hold the SAP. Everyone dumps what they don't want, and picks up what they do want. Then, the company builds as many lines as they can with what is left over, and they go to round 2. If you can not hold a round 1 line, you can choose a round 2 line, or a reserve schedule (long call or short call).

In CLT last month, there were 39 round 2 lines, and 13 FO's on reserve. There are usually a lot more FOs on reserve, but we are really short on FOs right now.

It will NOT stay this good for too much longer. We have classes of 25 slated for the next couple months, with the majority of those seats being filled already. If you want to get in when it is good, get in fast.

I am not trying to recruit you, but I did see what happened in 2014. If you got hired early in 2014, you are # 350 on the seniority list. If you got hired at the end of 2014, you are #750 on the seniority list.

I'll second this, if you are going to make a move do it now.
Few friends of mine came 4 months and 6 months after me. One could hold Capt. now. The other likely won't for another several months now.
