Just to clarify, if you are a line holder and your last leg is a dhd back to base, you can skip the dhd. If you are on reserve, you cannot just skip the dhd. Almost every time you call and ask not to do the dhd on reserve, the company will deny it.

The one way that we used to skip the dhd on reserve was to wait until the flight pushed back and left. But it seems that scheduling still uses the "you might have to work the flight" excuse to not let you skip the dhd on reserve.

Hey so kind of off topic.. but will they give you a class date if you are a little short on atp mins when you interview? I'm planning on hopefully interviewing in 2 weeks or so and then would really like to have a starting class date of early January .. doable?

Yeah I interviewed 3 months before I had the time. They'll give you a class date that you think you'll make and if don't they'll roll you into the next open one.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I also heard that you can do 25 hours of your required time for your ATP in the simulator? Is this correct?

I'm thinking of making the move back to the regionals after many years of corporate. I do not want to commute and have done extensive research on schools for the kids, affordability, etc. CLT would be a very nice place to raise a family but how soon can I expect to hold CLT as an FO? Not too concerned about holding a line yet just worried about NOT having to commute....

Thank you all!

A May 2016 guy was holding a build up line in Clt this month so I wouldn't expect it to be too long out of finishing training to be able to hold it.

Yeah so technically you need 1475 total time and 25 hours of multi when you show up to class if you're getting a regulator ATP.

Just interviewed with PSA this morning. There were 10 or so of us today. I heard they did 20 interviews yesterday. Supposedly they made 16 offers yesterday and not sure of today but they hired me so I'm happy about that. The briefing said they are looking for lots of pilots as they are adding aircraft.

In the last 2 years CLT has fluctuated between off IOE and about 6 months. Just out of curiosity since it sounds like you are moving anyway, have you considered CVG? As affordable or better and much faster road to quality of life as far as the airline life is concerned. If I had it to do over again, that's what I would do... of course CVG opened well after I had committed.
