I don't think he ever said they didn't
Anyhow I got moved to the Crowne. The Clarion may have a been a real crap hole but if you were tight on money, breakfast and lunch were provided, the van drivers would take you most anywhere and cheap food options were close by, like walking distance close by.
I totally agree the Crowne was not very friendly at all.

We all realize PSA is doing the best they can. It's a tough situation for all of us. I'd take these growing pains over no growth. We've advised the training department of the issues.
Downtown is not safe at night by yourself. I had three guys follow me for a block and ask if I was selling weed. The homeless people constantly ask us for money.
I want people coming in behind me to know what to expect to make their adjustment easier, or maybe they'll have some ideas on how to improve things.
I feel bad for whoever has the responsibility of figuring out how to house 100 trainees because of how difficult that must be.
Hampton Inn would be awesome because the one Hampton down here is next to a super Walmart, 20 chain type restaurants and it's only ten minutes from the airport.

If your at the BW try to go over and have a beer at the Clarion. It's cheap and those guys miss us. The bar staff are really nice and accommodating.
There is no bag lunch at BW as they have no kitchen. Yes it was a nice perk but I also came from another airline which didn't do that, so I didn't mind either way.

I haven't had an issue with the staff at the Crown. Everyone has been pretty friendly. Sure there is no free food but we are on full per diem. The hotel just hired more drivers so they are trying. Plenty of folks drove. If you need a lift, ask a class mate. I have 3 open seats.
Over the last 30 plus years of traveling the world, the Crown holds up as a good place to stay in my book. Are there issues, yes. Are they trying to provide good service, yes. Are we in a semi metropolitan area where maintaining good SA is important, yes. I've had more homeless and folks selling weed approach me on Waikiki and I don't think anyone would say Waikiki was a bad place to stay.
Indoc Final Exam, what a ball buster! Study up!

It is amazing that people are complaining about being at a nicer hotel that is being provided FREE. And it is single occupancy! You don't even have to share like a lot of other places.
These last posts make my head hurt.
I also can't believe that FO's making $60,000 a year are complaining because they don't get free pb&j sandwiches at the nicer hotel. Go rent a car and drive yourself. Seriously. I know my class had several people drive, and a group of 2 friends and I rented a car for the 5 weeks that we were there and split the bill. We put all of us on the insurance and we split it. And we made $24,000 our first year.
You are an adult. Find a solution. Make it work. Don't just sit back and complain.

Ah, boy you're one of those... but yea, go ahead and keep talking to us like we are infantile...
My point was that whatever he thought of the conditions at the Crowne, it's better than the bedbugs and drug paraphernalia found at the Clarion. (and the incessant drilling, banging, dust, mold, noxious odors, and stained bed linens.)
if you really wanted to hit your point home you'd tell the story of the guy finding a used condom in his room...
while the bedbugs are a very unfortunate thing it most likely occurred because in December the hotel hosted a bunch of homeless people so they wouldn't freeze to death not because they are a bunch of slumlords. no good deed goes unpunished.

I can tell you most likely never worked in construction as I could bet that you could pull the drywall out of most any bathroom in all of America that is at least 5 years old and find some mold on the back of the drywall from the bathroom and I would win that bet
while the Clarion was no palace it beat the crap out of the tent I slept in on deployment by a mile.
perspective.
