For a regional, absolutely not.

Just be yourself and answer truthfully.

Fully agree. Three days interviews at regional airlines as a prior military rotor pilot and thee CJOs. Study the gouge on here and on airline interviews, they expect you to and it doesn't look good if you miss something that is readily available. It shows you are not willing to put in the time to prepare and can be used as an indication of how you will do in training. Be yourself as they are also looking to see if they would be willing to spend four days in a cockpit with you.
Save the expensive prep services for when you start putting your apps out to the majors.

Army guy checking in. I have all the ratings and hours to go to a regional, about 1 year left on my commitment, and trying to figure out which regional to go to. PSA is on my shortlist.

I remember talks awhile back about PSA opening an ORD base -- very much a rumor at the time, but any news/updates about the possibility of Chicago?

That wholly depends on IF we get all the reminding Envoy 700s and IF they decide to base them out of ORD. Two big IFs.

The latest rumor is that the Envoy 700s will go to DCA. Hopefully they get put in ORD so we can get more Western flying and Canada. We currently stop at roughly OKC. They're rumors that we might get Aspen since Envoy currently flies it.

I think as long as SKW has 700s in AA paint they'll be flying Aspen in the absence of Envoy.

+1. I doubt we go much further west. Maybe South and south east. Rapid City being added this summer may be an indication about our foot print though.

Default Response from HR

How long does it normally take for HR/recruiting to contact someone after they put in their app?

I heard back about 3 days later, but 2 of those days were Saturday and Sunday.

Default Base choice

I have been having a hard time deciding which base makes more sense to bid for and would appreciate any input. I live in ATL and currently have CLT as a base given the several one leg flights to CLT per day and also the option of a 3.5 hour drive if it really came down to it. CLT seems like it takes a little over a year to hold round 1 so that is my only real concern about it.

Would it make more sense to keep CLT for convenience of relatively easier commute or bid something like CVG to have a shorter reserve but tougher commute? I think there are like 4 or 5 Delta mad dogs that go to CVG but am unsure how likely it is to ride on one.

Personally I'd go for ease of commute. CVG might have a lot of Delta guys commuting so it could be tough. You'll hold long call and buildup lines relatively quick in CLT, so its not like its going to be a solid year of nothing but short call reserve.
