The WO have scope and lift issues. YV will take seats out of the 900 to get under scope.

it’s not just a seat issue. It’s also a weight issue. I don’t know the weight of the 900, but it might not work even with seats taken out.

Most major scope is smarter than that. The weight limit is normally for CERTIFIED MTOW, in addition to seat count.

So removing seats and pax might get under the pax count but will not change the certified MTOW. Otherwise you could have mesa fly 777's full of belly cargo.

The 550 is an end-run around scope weight, but it required a new type certificate from the mfg. That could be done for the 900 but it would take time and money. Also I don't think it could fit under 50-seat scope at all... the empty weight would be very close to 50K without any payload on board.

That's what they said the last 50 times they said the airline was done for this time... Nope, I'm not buying it until they actually close up shop.
You put too much faith in those people in atw.
One day you’ll show up and the doors in atw will be chained up , don’t put a 9mm to your head and pull the trigger .

The 900’s wouldn’t have to get to 50 seats, it would move to 65 seats just like the skywest 700’s are. And about the weight thing I don’t think Americans scope deals with weight, only seats so it really would be as simple as yanking seats out of the thing. No new type certificate required. But I 100% could have been misinformed on that.

It's not "far too much faith" to be cautiously optimistic. And Jesus dude no one is talking about killing themselves. Seriously.

AA scope, unlike UA is not weight related.

67 not 65. More premium seats, better range. Pre covid 67 pax was about the norm.

Sorry for the dumb question but are we talking about taking seats out of YV 900s to fly for UAX? Or we need seats out to continue flying for AA?
