206 on the streets

another 86-140 to go

(86 "projected as of now"..but they just handed out 70 additional downgrades..which usually translates to doubles the amount of furloughs....and if anyone remembers the spokesman telling the news people on a few different occasions that the furloughs were going to be in the ball park of 120 - 140..i guess it makes sense now)

So possibly somewhere between 260 to 346 out of 1400 pilots gone

not including what H64bubba just said..if that's true about 6 more airplanes..you can add another 60 to that list

20-25% will be the range
(30% if you add the hypothetical aforementioned 60)

If anyone can look at that number and say comair ISN'T on its way out..i would like a very VERY large order of whatever you're smoking delivered to me ASAP.

As of now, there are 206 furloughed.

An additional 86 have been announced for sometime in January.

Given projected downgrades and aircraft for sale I would expect to see additional rounds.

Hmmmm... click the link and got this:

"No listings match your search criteria."

Edit: Nevermind, re-did the search and found it.

On the plus side, who is going to buy old beat up 50 seaters?

I could be wrong, but these are some of the few aircraft that are owned and not leased...so could it just be that they are selling them and intend to lease them back from whomever might buy them? For whatever reason, it seems like airlines hate owning aircraft these days and would rather lease...

Looks like Delta dusted off their play book for us and they're going to use the previous "your performance numbers don't justify your current pay" scenario to impose pay cuts.

I mentioned a few post back, that more downgrades/displacements/furloughs are anticipated after this one in January. There is no guessing to what is happening at Comair, the plan is set and only Delta knows with a few here at Comair. My "source" has been involved in many if not all of the planning and has relayed this info to me. What I have been told is a not a pretty picture here for now. The only two scenarios that I have been informed of are a slow liquidation complete by end of 09, or an extremely small viable corporate style operation in JFK and and CVG with rumor of a satellite base in DTW. Always subject to change but right now things do not look good. The "rumor" is a reduction of comair to the point of merging of with either Mesaba or Compass after reducing Comair to a small operation. That rumor has NOT been a part of the scenarios played out according my source/friend. Just passing what I know.

Of course they are. That's what they do.

That recent string of 100% completion days was promptly rewarded by removing yet another airframe previously scheduled to be delivered to Comair. It is quite obvious that there is no acceptable amount of wage cuts or outstanding performance that is going to impact Delta's plan for Comair.

It is my opinion we'd all be wise to focus on things more important than the future of Comair - our families, friends, health, personal interests, additional education, personal financial strength, etc. The list goes on and on.

Things are likely to continue to get worse before they get better. Comair was unable to succeed even after declaring bankruptcy in an economy that was reasonably good a couple of years ago. Why should we expect management at Comair & Delta have the talent and vision to keep things together over the next year or two as the economy in general collapses? They don't have a particularly good history of excellence.

I just want to know my furlough date so I can somewhat plan ahead. Let's see that list already!

Actually, I think it goes beyond a lack of vision regarding Comair. Comair only exists as an example. If you strike against Delta, we're going to get you back, and you ain't gonna like it.
