Well for starters, the average Captain Seniority will go from 15.7 years to 17.7 years in the next two years. And the junior FO will be on year 5 pay. And our merger fund will be up to $864,000 because ALPA will extend it indefinitely. Furloughed Comair pilots will still be checking APC daily hoping for recall rumors. Our pass-rider priority will be down to S9F (meaning we ride in cargo as ballast, after dead Delta retirees and Delta Sky Magazines have been loaded) and we'll be using our "mighty leverage" to force significant gains in contract negotiations. Delta will move our operation to China because the gov't folks there aren't real fond of Mesa's completion rates. Those are all things to look forward to.

Of course half our fleet will have been lease-returned by then, so I guess after displacements and furloughs our junior FO will be on year 9 pay and our Captains will average closer to 20 years. No clue what that does to the merger fund.

Let me go out on a limb and guess that in two years Mesa is still in court, but offers to renew their DCI contract for 5% less money as long as they get Comair's CRJ900s. Delta agrees and throws in a few of our 70s to prove there's no hard feelings.

Dont Give Management any Ideas.

Marietta, is a midsized satellite city that has quite a few nice parts, about a 30 minute drive. Nicest part near ATL is Buckhead, you'll find that up off 85 near PDK airport. 'spensive though. about a 25 minute drive. (Mind you traffic in this city rivals LA..so 25 minutes is a conservative guess)

Also Vinings, GA is really nice. Definitely look north, stay away from west/southwest and south atlanta. There are some nice parts east, in Decatur (mostly near Emory University). But Atlanta is a VERY VERY hit or miss city, literally it can be really nice one block, but the next can be the ghetto. (Never seen anything like it in any city i've ever lived in).

If you have kids, and schools are important, Cobb county is one of the fastest growing and best funded school systems in the country, Paulding county is also exploding (north of Cobb...a little further out up 75)

N.E. Atlanta is somewhat of a mystery to me, I know stone mountain has some not so nice parts around it..but as I said, this city is very hit or miss and generally speaking N of the city is fine.

PM me if you need anything else buddy, g'luck!

Evilboy got the context in which NG4's response was delivered. It was a very "I've got mine, F you." attitude.

Typical Northwest-style arrogance.

As for Comair's outlook over the next four years...it would probably be more productive to direct our attention to where we want to be as individuals in four years. Even Comair's President doesn't have any control over where Comair will be in four years.

Whether Comair succeeds or fails in the future is outside our control. As a result, I find it more beneficial to work on ensuring my economic security despite Comair's inability to succeed.

Excellent point. I'm probably one of the lucky ones with a job in this crappy economy -bartending-. The way I look at it is this, IF I have NOT obtained another flying job, and Comair recalls (big if), I'd go back. But I'd still be looking for another flying gig. Get the feeling what 3825ing DL has in store for Comair is not going to be pretty. So at this point I'd rather take my chances with another company (specially one not associated with DL) an start fresh. Besides, TO ME iti is just a matter of time before DL implodes. I don't know of any company that got that big and had no troubles shortly after.

If that is true about DL imploding, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of A--holes! Just my two cents. Comair guys and gals excluded of course.

I'm at the CVG airport viewing area watching my former job and aspirations pass before me It isn't all depressing though... there are bunches of little tikes and kids here enjoying what's left of this wasteland. Had some Qdoba and a lot of time to kill. By the way, I'm not one of the apathetic furloughees everybody speaks of on here now. I am a furloughee, but I've moved on... hope it gets better for those left, but it's hard to give a damn about Comair, or the airlines in general, anymore.

That's my opinion/wish/hope/(semi) educated guess. Which btw, would make me very happy. Only time will tell.
