Comair updates?
Sure, we got cut in half and sent to JFK, but at least we had an industry-leading contract for 3 1/2 years.
By the way, it's not just furloughs that find it hard to give a damm about Comair anymore.
Yea, all those stupid ERJs with their stupid extreme nose high landing roundout... what do they think they're flying, the space shuttle? The have an industry leading landing roundout.
And, yes, the burrito came from the Mall Road Qdoba... except it was a Fajita Ranchera burrito. I had LOTS of time to kill in Northern KY today. I went to the Wal-Mart there in Florence (ya'll) to get a new broom. Geez, you should see how packed that Wal-Mart is on a Thursday afternoon... insane.

I know this may sound harsh but out of all you furloughed guys and gals, who is actually happy they were F'd as compared to being on the very bottom in JF'nK? (I'm assuming mostly commuters). With Obama giving over 1 year unemployment and me fast approaching a furlough myself, I can't help but think maybe a furlough would be better than commuting to JFK on short call. Am i the only one who feels this way?

Marietta, is a midsized satellite city that has quite a few nice parts, about a 30 minute drive. Nicest part near ATL is Buckhead, you'll find that up off 85 near PDK airport. 'spensive though. about a 25 minute drive. (Mind you traffic in this city rivals LA..so 25 minutes is a conservative guess)
Also Vinings, GA is really nice. Definitely look north, stay away from west/southwest and south atlanta. There are some nice parts east, in Decatur (mostly near Emory University). But Atlanta is a VERY VERY hit or miss city, literally it can be really nice one block, but the next can be the ghetto. (Never seen anything like it in any city i've ever lived in).
If you have kids, and schools are important, Cobb county is one of the fastest growing and best funded school systems in the country, Paulding county is also exploding (north of Cobb...a little further out up 75)
N.E. Atlanta is somewhat of a mystery to me, I know stone mountain has some not so nice parts around it..but as I said, this city is very hit or miss and generally speaking N of the city is fine.
PM me if you need anything else buddy, g'luck!

I'm in the same boat you are. My wife makes more than me and we have no kids. I'm about 60 from the bottom and worry that in the fall Comair is going to lay off another 50 or so. At this point I think I would rather be furloughed than clinging to a horrible life at the bottom commuting to JFK seeing my wife maybe 8 days a month. What ever happened with all the talk about voluntary furloughs?
Has anyone else noticed how we are at the bottom (below all set goals) for this months on-time and completion factors? And this is only the 1st week of the transfers to Kennedy. I cant wait to see what happens by September.

I looked at getting F'd back in November as a blessing in disguise, and I still hope it turns out that way, but it's getting tough to stay positive all the time just sitting around and not flying. I'm one of those hypocritical types though that would go back to Comair tomorrow if they called, but it would be out of desperation and it would suck being back on short call and I would p*** and moan about how great it was being at home all the time
. Either way Comair was never in my long term plans and I still hope something will come of the bunch of resumes I've been sending out and I can put this nonsense behind me.
