"I can't leave this industry because it's like a drug once you try it you want more. I think I am the few who is willing to go back to Comair when the recall starts (if ever). "
I am on the furlough list too and I fully expect it to happen come Jan. I am looking forward to a break from JF'nK. It is sad to think you are willing to go back to a **** job at OH at JFK. Geeeze just thinking about that makes me want to put a gun to my head. LOL Since the Aviation Safety bill has been passed and will be put on the POTUS'S desk maybe that combined with the 65 rule might turn this industry around in three years. I hope so because it is garbage now. This is the worst job I have ever had.

Not yet an RN, that's step 1. I think it is definitely worth it. I have a lot of family members and friends that are RN's, MD's and CRNA's. One of my buddies that just finished Anesthesia school with his CRNA just got a job starting that pays $141,000/year, 9 weeks vacation each year and a $40,000 signing bonus paid into his 401k working 8-5p, 5 days a week, on call optional, overtime optional but paid at a set wage calculated as time and a half for the average anesthesia salary at the hospital.
I can't wait to start in January!

Well you might think it's sad but I think I had it great. JFK is 20 mins from my house in queens. My QOL was great. My wife was pregnant with our first child while I was there. I made it to all of her appointments and was there for the child birth. I had the weekend off while on reserve. I always had the reserve window that I wanted. Pretty much I liked it there. When I first I got hired I knew I was going to a regional carrier and I knew how much it pays and I adapted to that with my family. Please don't feel sorry for me for wanting to come back. But with all due respect, I don't understand why I should feel the way you feel about Comair? I do agree that as professionals’ thing needs to improve; wage wise, and quality wise. You call it your worst job I called it one of the best. All the JF’nK are great people. And you guys made it fun for me.

Check into the Lab field. Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, even Lab Tech. If you've had any science courses, it might not take too long to complete. Labs are plentiful and lots of part-time/PRN work could fit into a flying schedule.
