Yeah, they may not have known it would be OH, but really, how could they not, but in any event, it was going to be someone's job on the line. Someone who makes a heck of a lot less than they do and still has to put a roof over their heads and put food on the table for their families.
You'll see talk about labor and management on these threads all the time. But in this case, DAL labor went along with management in this particular case. There could easily have been some sort of *basic* provisions put in to help those who are losing their jobs.

No, you know what he is saying? He's saying that pilots are supposed to be in this together, especially union-affiliated pilots. The fact that they sold out some of their brethren for their own wallets, well, that is what is distasteful.

Seek employment on your own... ALPA won't do **** for you. A couple of national fat cats make out well, and it's a useless association.

They voted it out in the first place, at their own expense - unknownst to them at the time. Now they are simply taking it back. Regional pilots didn't give anything to mainline pilots, and the Comair letter just drove a stake through future hiring at Delta.

Comair didn't take Delta flying. Comair started service to cities that no one flew to out of CVG...that's how they made so much money. It wasn't anyone's flying to take. Delta purchased Comair because it was such a money maker/threat (don't know which) Comair did not start as a low cost regional taking flying from mainline...they started markets that mainline didn't service..and then serviced them with jets. Just for the record

All this bickering aside, I'd like to thank the professionals at Comair for their hard work and taking us jumpseaters, sometimes going well out of their way to do so. I wish them the best of luck, and hopefully they can find some good employment soon.

I feel bad for the employees of Comair, but Comair's demise is another glaring example of why some regionals should operate his or her own operation and stop depending on major legacy airlines for feed. If a regional is unable then line up and become fodder for whatever whims your favorite legacy has in store. Sure its about money, but its more about your life!
