I know... And I can't believe the union would turn their backs on us like this. Ya, they are willing to talk to mgmt, but only if they fix minor (yes, I said minor) issues first. I feel sick....

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to think. I feel very sick.

Can we get a letter or something from the company to break a lease early if we get furloughed? We signed a 12 month lease a matter of days before this crap started.

I feel for you! It's amazing that single pilots are able to find a match these days given our line of work and the risk of all of this happening. On a brighter note, at least your not alone. The two of you may not be able to support each other financially, but you can help each other keep your spirits up anyway.

I always thought it would be nice to settle down with another pilot. Looking at it now though, I think it's a terrible idea if you are new to the industry. Starting of a new marriage with close to 200,000.00 in debt. I'm supprised that's even legal.

Review your lease closely. Most leases say that if you are forced to move out of state or more than 50 miles from your current residence then you will have grounds to break your lease. Being that you are being furloughed, I would call someone ASAP tomorrow with your question. Though technically you aren't trasnferring, the company probably can provide your landlord with a Furlough letter. I would imagine most landlords would work with you on that.

For something so simple not sure why I didn't think to check earlier. Doh! Anyway, I haven't found a hardship clause or anything but it does say that we can terminate early if we give 60 days notice then pay for the remaining two months plus any damages. That's not so bad. Better than paying the remaining 11 months!

Paok I appreciate everthing you've done for me, hopefully your stay at home won't be too long. I only hope this down turn in this industry is short lived.

Again thank you so much, and if I hear of anyone hiring, I'll let you know: to wit; I think Commutair out of KCLE may be hiring again in AUG/SEP.
