Default Dal/nwa

I was jumpseating the other day on one of our planes and CA/FO where having and interesting conversation: Basically the CA was stating that according to the new TA signed (i think) by the DAL/NWA pilots, that if one pilot from the new Delta gets furloughed, than Delta will pull all the 900's from the regionals and mainline will fly them.

A) Does anyone know if this is true/speculation?

B) What is going on with the assumed merger of Comair, Compass, and Mesaba?

Do I get paid for that?

This industry and company already gets too much free labor from us.

Basically false. The clause states that if a pilot hired prior to the last cycle gets furloughed the current 76 seaters have to be reduced to 70 seats. They can still be flown just with 70 seats. Enough pilots have been hired in this cycle that its not likely to happen.

That'd be a lot of leg room for an RJ by taking out 6 seats and readjusting the remaining rows!

Think of the potential crew bag storage area.

I miss the 40 seaters.

That's a retarded clause....how will removing 6 seats from an RJ do anything to save a mainline job? someone please clarify for me

having to fly around a crj900 with 70 seats might be enough justification to bring it on mainline with what ever it will hold.

Back to my original statement. Captains that are nervous usually have a good excuse for being so. When you or if you ever upgrade, you will find out exactly what I mean the first time you take a number down because your FO did something retarded.

Wow man... that’s a pretty bold statement. I'm actually rather sad that you have such animosity in your palate to unfairly judge another. I personally know Andy, and your statement is rather inappropriate. He's the last pilot you have to worry about violating a FAR or operating in an unsafe manner.

Just out of curiosity. When does this magical "new hire" stereotype wear off?
1 year? 2 years? 5 years? If Comair was upgrading captains, and I have the necessary time requirements to upgrade, do you think my promotion would be hindered because I have less than a year with the company? We were all "new hires" at one point or another, and we've all done something "retarded" at one point or another. Nevertheless, weather we get hired with 250 hours, or 25,000 hours, none of us are beyond the point that we can’t learn from each other.

Maybe you should just take a visit to the advertised site and take a look.
