SKYW: Pay Proposal -- Voted NO today.
#101
Just officially voted NO!!!!!......
A CA I just flew with was going to vote YES, after 5 hours of flying and discussing I observed him willingly vote NO using his iPhone. I will continue to reach out to every SKW pilot I come across and hopefully we can show some unity in voting NO! We need these answers!

Also, if you look at the scales, you'll see that there's not a reduction for 2nd year FO on the 700/900 rate until 2010. That person hasn't been hired yet. Also, I'm remiss in not including the ACTUAL BHO of about 5.66% for those folks... it should have been in the notes that you received as a cover letter. Again, no cut, but no gain for 2008 and 2009. Small cut in 2010.
FROM THE EMAIL...
Current: $34.89 PLUS
2008 2009 2010
6% BHO 7% BHO 8% BHO
YR2 $36.98 $37.33 $37.68
Proposed:
2008 2009 2010
5% BHO 5% BHO 5% BHO
YR2 $36.98 $37.33 $37.48
Those numbers are wrong.
Real figures:
2008 - 35.00 * 5% BHO = 36.75 (DECREASE of $0.23/hr!!!)
2009 - 35.35 * 5% BHO = 37.12 (DECREASE of $0.21/hr!!!)
2010 - 35.70 * 5% BHO = 37.49 (DECREASE of $0.19/hr!!!)
I advise everyone else to check the numbers that are pertinent to them before accepting the email's spreadsheet. I don't know if it was a formula error or what. But TONY, IT's STILL A FREAKING DECREASE IN PAY FOR ME, YOU, AND A HUNK OF OTHER FOs. What did we do to deserve that? Even if it's pennies, it's pretty freaking sad.
And, I don't know what you mean by 5.66% actual BHO...looked again in the notes, didn't see any explanation or mention of this. If it's actually 5.66%, put 5.66% on the dang summary...
AND, I'm all in favor of screwing the FO that hasn't been hired yet

You'd think that a SAPA rep such as yourself would be curious as well. Especially since you stand to gain nothing for over a year. Why not see what Mgmnt's made of? Why not try to call their bluff? What do you/we have to lose, this pay proposal, so what it's sucks! It's a small price to pay for a life time of answers. Answers that could save us heartache down the road and could propel to the level that we deserve. We have a golden opportunity to have Mgmnt put their money where their mouth is but because of pushovers like you we’ll never get to see what their intentions are and just how much they truly respect us.

It was a two way conversation in which I posed questions and was very understanding of his opinion and position. It didn't take long for him to start controlling the conversation and asking the same questions while needing the same answers, answers that we don't have.

A win for Skywest is a win for everyone at the Regional level for the most part. Its all about Raising the Bar

It's still not an emotional decision for me. I (personally) get almost nothing out of this pay proposal, however others will, so I voted for it.
Again, whether it fails or passes, won't make any difference to me personally.

Everybody else is at 5%. So, the raw data is correct, but the 5% number is only correct if it doesn't include 2nd year FO's, which is actually 5.66%.
Hope that clarifies things. No pay cut !!! (or pay raise)

Just parked next to the CRJ that got hit at SFO tonight. Nice to see it's flying again. Its got a new rudder and a few other new components on it along with a few scrapes over the United logo on the right side.

Everyone is willing to take whatever they can get right NOW! I want to see some patience and negotiations! For the amount we have to gain, it is so much worth it to see what management actually thinks of our pilot group. This was not what I expected and I am disappointed. However, if ALPA were voted in it would have been much longer before any pay/QOL issues would have been voted in.
Again, it took two months to fudge some numbers around and come out with this phantom pay increase. We could get another proposal in two weeks!!!

It may have taken longer but it may have not taken very long either. Nothing would have stopped management from expediting negotiations especially since they seem eager to bring up first year FO rates. The upside is so much bigger that it would have been worth that risk.
