I feel bad for Mesa

We all can agree that we want our respective airlines to succeed and prosper, but we shouldn't want it at the expense of our fellow pilots. I know I don't.

Selfish bunch of guys. We're losing money hand over fist, furloughing and downgrading. Heaven forbid it get any worse for you guys.

Why not let us continue try to improve Mesa (with a new contract and hopefully new management)? Easier said than done, but were on TA #2 with mgmt now. That's progress considering who our CEO is.
I don't understand the school of thought that there's one too many regional airlines in business right now.
I'd like to sacrifice "0" personally.

I understand that no one likes us, but the double standard here is ridiculous.
I'm not asking anyone to feel bad if Mesa tanks. It sucks, but we'll (employees) make it through.
My point: I think its bad that people are rooting for us to fail (and be out of work) so they can bring their furloughees back off the street.
Do your furloughees need their jobs back more than our guys need to keep their jobs?

I'll try to go easy on this. It is just a simple statement of fact:
There are too many regionals existing in today's market. The number of regionals operating on behalf of a short handful of airlines is sickening.
It's not so much that I would want anyone to lose a job as much as it is that the employer needs to go under.
Pax, I don't mean that to be cruel at all. Those jobs should have NEVER existed in the first place.
If it were up to me, I would have a handful of regionals with 3000 pilots on every seniority list.

How do you propose we select which poor bastards lose their jobs?
Is there a seniority list of regional airlines?
People are rooting for us to fail b/c of our horrid contract. It's a cop out reason to justify their selfish beliefs.
To assign differing priorities to people (who should get to keep their job and who shouldn't) isn't for anyone to decide.
We should all be saying "good luck" to one another while the stock market destroys itself and the economy continues to tank.

The judge basically said "Comair can't compete with that" and told management they were free to "modify" the Comair pilot contract as they saw fit.
In the 2 years since Delta/Comair ripped up the pilot contract, Comair has continued to shrink and (until recently) the Mesa's chunk of DCI has not.
So tell me again why a 6-year Comair FO with no opportunity to upgrade and who sees Freedom growing in CVG should be rooting for Mesa's survival?

Actually, all of them outside of the first regional to fly for the major that hired, bought, started the airline.
After the first, there never should have been a second, let alone 8.
I wish you the best, seriously, as I know you'll need it. Non-wholly owned airlines don't have much of a future post bancruptcy for the companies they work for as it makes much more sense to keep all capital in house.
Good luck to you and start your search for new digs ASAP.
