They come from maintenance, they get returned to maintenance. This is the life cycle of a -145

I've heard that PDT is living in the dark ages from a technology standpoint. Every pilot must carry two airplane manuals,3 jepps binders ,his own qrh,and fom.7 binders ?? How does all of that even fit into a flight case ?
They won't allow you to carry electronic versions of any of that ?
It would help if the qrh and aircraft manuals kept in the plane were sufficient, but for them I guess it's not.
They must be wasting a ton of Parkers cash paying to print all of that crap for EVERY pilot .
So yeah,EFB at pdt, probably when hell freezes over.....literally. From a technology standpoint they are still in 1987.

I don't understand who thinks this stuff through. QRH should be kept in the plane. That's how we did it at XJT. Instructor told us that each one of those books retails for $400. Literally burning AA money when it simply isn't necessary.

Wait, you guys on the jet have to carry your own QRH???? Why? And who revises it?! Aren't they spiral bound?

The technology that is desperately needed is in Scheduling. Monthly and Permanent bids are literally a guy doing them by hand. The open time system is atrocious and when the hell are we getting Flica????

Who revises it? PDT, didnt think that far ahead. When a revision comes out, just trash the old one and get a new one. They have cash to burn seems like,so it's no problem.
I will say this,PDT may have a lot of great people working there but if they don't get ahead of all of these issues with technology they are headed for big problems. Their old systems and procedures worked when they were a small Pilot group ,but if they are planning on expanding to a 1000-1500 Pilot group or more, they won't be able to properly manage it with outdated systems and procedures..

It would have been less of your time if you had just actually typed: "Envoy".
