MUCH better than it was in years past. An amazing new President and a very pro pilot flight department. The schedules need work though. I know they read this so I'll say it again, THE SCHEDULES NEED WORK NOW.

Mesa however has seen big gains since that time and that's no longer the case, but it was back then.

Look at Republic now. Flying a 175 mainline size plane for much less then any 50 seat RJ operator when you factor in their crappy work rules and crappy benefits. The system is broken and ALPA just keeps on signing off. Until that stops there will be NO UNITY at the regional level.

It is what it is!!
Except Republic isn't ALPA.

The largest problem is the RLA being written for business models that never envisioned fee for departure outsourcing.

What is a realistic upgrade time for someone hired in the next 6 months? Is the flow to AA after XXX years as Captain? Are all new hires expected to get EMB-145 in PHL?

If you have the 121 time, 1 year easy.
No, flow is based purely on seniority. Hired today you'll be there in 5.5 years if we grow as planned.
It's my understanding it will be a mix as needed between the Dash and the 145 starting in Nov/Dec.

That's quite encouraging! If I were to consider a Regional, I think PDT would be on top of my list considering the quick upgrade and no interview flow. How are they able to bypass seniority by upgrading guys with previous 121 time?

People will talk crap about the flow but look at it like a nice card in your back pocket. You'll upgrade in less then a year and start getting your PIC time. What you don't want to go to American??? Then you apply to United, Delta or any other airline out there. Remember getting hired is never a sure thing so if you get turned down by your airline of choice then guess what??? You'll still be a Captain with a good QOL at PDT and just waiting for you Flow number to come up. Win Win!!!

Good time to be part of PDT and believe me 2 years ago none of would be saying that.

I think that's a sound strategy. Is there going to be a different payscale for the EMB-145? I think I could stomach year 1 FO pay, if an upgrade was 12 months away. Are you hiring a lot of older guys? (50+)?

The new laws require a 121 captain to have 1,000hrs of 121 time prior to upgrade. That FO would still be sr to you should you upgrade before him.
