I wasn't bummed out by not getting it done in such a short time frame considering the scope of what was actually trying to be done. Bringing 3 separate companies together is an enormus task and a completely different thing than what pinnacle was going through on their own. I also understand the views that many have expressed as to how the company shouldn't have put the nov 15 deadline if it really wasn't possible but there was a lot of progress made in just a couple months considering what was at stake and had they origionally said february for a deadline, it would have been a much different story.

If United and Continental announced a deadline for a 45 days for a contract everyone would scoff that its simply not possible. They understand that it will take time to do it right and get it right. Yet they are just two parties we are 3! My aviation history is somewhat weak, but has this ever even been done before?
So lemme get this straight....a 9e guy that says "no way in hell this can be done it is typical management BS that has been going on for 6 years" is complaining, while a mainline CO/UAL guy that says "no way in hell it can be done in 45 days" is being rational? Please clarify...

And the sad thing is the 9E guys have been hearing about is for the past 6 years. 6 years of "progress", and still nothing to show for it.

The vast majority of that post doesn't have anything to do with the actual JCBA negotions. It's just why we need a new contract. And I stand right next to you on that point. Trust me, I know very well how badly we need this contract, but I also understand that we need the RIGHT contract. And the right contract realistically couldn't be done in 45 or 48 days..

And I never said I wasn't a regular line pilot. Just that I'm not management nor am I an "ALPA" guy. I pay my dues but nothing beyond that.

p.s. Before someone takes this as a union bash, it is not. From our email, there are a lot of things left open. Higney, please help me out, how can people say lots of progess is being made but almost everything is still left open? Is this simply because they are not TA'd? Have they even been discussed?
What would you call progress? Is the only thing progress means to you is getting a contract done in 48 days? The majority of the stuff left on the table is financial and it is all intermingled with eachother. Read the emails. A number of those sections mention the fact that they are waiting on other sections to be completed. And again, we are negotiating this thing for three entirely separate companies. You can't expect it to go blazingly fast.

What I was getting at is all the complaints about how it wasn't done in 45 days. The complaints about it not being able to get in 45 days are legit. But the same guys who complained early on about how 45 days was impossible are now ready to lynch ALPA for not getting it done. That's my gripe.

What happened prior to july 1st 2010 and what has happened as of July 1st 2010 are separate issues. Once this JCBA is for sure not going to work, then you will be back dealing with the issues of your own CBA. For now, we are still all in this together dealing with something completely unique.

Who knows...but there is a reason we haven't received the permits!! AND IT PROBABLY ISN'T A GOOD ENOUGH ONE!!

I would love to go out and picket!!!! I'd like to do a lot more than that to this dump of a company, but knowing how things have been going, December will come and go and ZERO action will have been taken!!

I agree that "progress" is getting seriously worn out. In my opinion there is only one thing that would be progress, that would be a TA. We all know the way this company negotiates, there is no such thing as progress because as long as one section is open, all sections are open to them. There has been ZERO progress since the JCBA thing started, thats reality folks welcome to Pinnacle.
