That sounds quite reasonable. Had that been said sooner, many people's blood pressure would have remained normal.
Had the faux pas been acknowledged when found, explained why the error(s) occurred, how it would be corrected and when, at least we level headed folks would have understood. Hiding an error, even an honest one, makes a person appear untrustworthy.

Another point to consider: ALPA merger policy partially defines DOH as being in the company payroll system. It says nothing about actually BEING PAID. From day one we filled out all of our employment verification paperwork and received an employee number. Is it unreasonable to assume that all this information wouldn't be entered into the payroll system right from the start, but that they obviously wouldn't cut checks until we passed our checkride? Or for people hired after 2006 we also got paid from day one as well. So using our class start date as our ALPA merger policy DOH is completely reasonable.

Wouldn't have mattered with this group of 5th grade mentality gossip queens. Whatever our MEC does people can't wait to tear their decision apart. When they say something, people say they shouldn't have. When they don't say something, people say"where's your mec on here?" our MEC shouldn't have to cater to a bunch of whiney conspiracy theorists with a "damned if you do damned if you don't" attitude. They and pinnacle will be attacked whether they tell the truth or remain silent.

At XJ we trust our union officials, not attack them. They do a great job! They spend the time, and money to be fully prepared, well dressed, and well spoken for negotiations. They represent US! Not themselves. And although I can't say that I have agreed with all their doings over the last 12 years, I can say that their actions were never out of line and in general were for the greater good of the majority of pilots. I truly trust them and can honestly say my union speaks for me.
Now why the discrepancy with your union? Is it the memberships fault? A bunch of whiney, "conspiracy theorists?" Or is it a longtime lack of leadership and oversight by the union official? Again, why the difference?

So explain to me how your union is different from mine.

On a side note I'm a little confused to your "what's the difference?" question. I stated that I and the 9e guys on this thread trust and support our union officers on this matter, as you said xj guys trust yours. There is no difference there that I can see.

You're missing the point completely. I feel the same about my MEC as you feel about yours. The problem with your last paragraph is that is isn't 9e pilots on this thread that are tearing up our MEC, it is XJ and 9l guys. Maybe the difference is we don't attack your MEC's with false unfounded rumors as much as y'all attack ours. Politics as many have said.
