Mesaba's dispute?

7 years without a contract. Opening up closed sections less than 12 hrs after closing it during the most recent negotiations. Must have been nice getting 150 hrs of pay for doing nothing.
And no I am not affiliated with the SLI. Just a concerned line pilot.

Reminds me of when the pay raise for 1st year pay was turned down. ( I think that was the situation)

You really should read your first paragraph, stop, take a breath, and then read the last two...they are very contradictory to each other...

No. Why is it that anytime the company tries to throw a bone to the people on the bottom of the totem pole, the guys higher up see it as a chance to help themselves? A little selfish if you ask me.

Well I see it as that MOU as the first step toward fixing this whole mess of a career.... It was recognized that pilots from both sides were now one in the same and were given credit as such..
Also at Mesaba if you started in a different department then became a pilot you got to keep your original hire date for your seniority to use for travel passes. (back when we had travel worth using) I.E. A 2005 pilot hire would be senior to the 2006 pilot hire for upgrade and monthly bidding (but they were hired as a rampie in 2004) but if they both showed up to nonrev to Vegas the 2006 pilot hire would go first based on the extra year worked with the company overall...

Anyway, remember, Pinnacle and Mesaba are still two different companies, even if owned by same holding company. Pinnacle's union needs to look at our best interests, just as the Mesaba union has been looking out for their owns best interest. I have a HUGE problem when my union works in a longevity increase for XJ pilots, while giving up the fight and accepting that our Pinnacle pilots will not have their longevity adjusted from sim date to class date DOH. It is pure BS. They should have taken a stand for US first, and told management that nothing else is up for discussion regarding seniority or longevity unless they first come to the table to adjust OUR Pinnacle longevity. Our union needs to fight its own battles before fighting for yours.

This has nothing to do with hatred for them. And I do have sympathies for any furloughed pilot. Being forcefully unemployed is something that we all hope to avoid, but it can come at anytime in this industry. I'm against the MOU's longevity credit on the principal of the matter. Once Pinnacle started hiring in Summer 2010, we received XJ furloughs as newhires, but with longevity credit, while newhire off-the-street pilots did not get any credit. Many Pinnacle newhires from 2010 were furloughed from other airlines too. How are they any different? Some of them had been in the industry a lot longer than a 2008 furloughee, but once they started at Pinnacle, they got no favoritism, no break, no credit.
