Saab will be senior and my best guess is we wont see it for awhile. Same with trying to get into FL I bet it's at least a few years before we can hold it.

I dont think so because what they are pretty much doing is hiring FO's as training captains. I was told once you hit around 1500 hours and ATP, you go for your upgrade. And that only takes a year or two..

"... and I completed the full interview with 260TT.."

The bad thing about never holding another flying job prior to going to any regional, is that when one gets furloughed, he is far less likely to find a 91 or 135 job to tide him over until the recall. A 135 operator will look at 2000 TT, 1700 Turbine SIC with no real "signing for the aircraft" PIC and say "Thanks, but no thanks."

I know they are promising upgrade at 1500, but all it takes is a bunch of crazy oil speculators, a third dip in this recession, or an act of the almighty, and hiring and upgrades stop. You might be able to deal with a crappy situation for a couple of years, but what if that turns into six or seven?

I thought there was a law going into effect requiring 1500 hours for any airline pilot. Did that not happen?

I goes into effect August 2013. It will also probably be watered down or ignored entirely like the FTDT legislation.

Seriously??? If you mean the proposed ATP rule, you are but one google search away from the info you need...... For the record, I think the date is Aug 1, 2013. It does help to stay up on the laws that govern ones industry, especially when one spends their free time stirring the pot on the internet.
